UCT is looking for a talented Senior Director, Sales to join us in Hayward, CA!

The Senior Director, Sales leads the development and execution of strategic initiatives to drive revenue growth and market share in the semiconductor and related equipment sectors. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, building high-value customer relationships, and aligning sales strategies with corporate objectives. The position ensures effective market penetration, customer onboarding, and collaboration across teams to deliver sustainable growth. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Market Research and Analysis
    • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the semiconductor industry.
    • Analyze market data to develop actionable insights and strategies for new OEM business.
    • Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership on business development progress and challenges.
  • Business Strategy Development
    • Identify and prioritize key business segments and customer profiles aligned with company capabilities.
    • Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve regional and global objectives.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure alignment of sales strategies with corporate goals.
    • Use data-driven analysis to measure initiative effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Product Development and Improvement
    • Gather customer feedback and market insights to inform product development and enhancements.
    • Partner with R&D teams to align product offerings with market needs and customer expectations.
  • Sales Process Management and Forecasting
    • Lead initial sales initiatives to drive revenue growth and secure new customer accounts.
    • Set onboarding targets for new customers, monitor performance, and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Collaborate with NPI and sales teams to support smooth transitions from onboarding to high-volume manufacturing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Strong business acumen with expertise in sales strategy and market development.
  • Proven ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities in complex markets.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Skilled in data analysis and forecasting to drive informed decision-making.
  • Experience in aligning product development with market demands and customer requirements.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving capabilities in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Educational/Certification Requirement:  

  • Tertiary Degree preferably in Engineering. MBA is desirable.

Experience Requirement:

Work Experience:  

  • Minimum 10 years of semiconductor and/or microelectronics industry experience with a strong emphasis in product development, business development and customer management.

Management Experience: 

  • Proven experience in semiconductor equipment product development or business development, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends and develop actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $207,300.00 and $331,700.00/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including variable pay and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO (Paid Time Off) and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.  

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
