We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr Employee Relations Specialist! The Employee Relations Specialist is a trusted advisor who partners with leaders and employees to resolve workplace issues, conduct investigations, provide guidance on performance and conduct matters, and ensure consistent application of company policies and employment practices. This role helps foster a positive and compliant workplace culture by mitigating risk, coaching leaders, addressing employee concerns, and driving proactive employee relations strategies.
This is a Remote position.
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $105,000.00 to $120,000.00, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. Primary Job Functions
Deliver consistent employee relations case resolution
Manage a portfolio of employee relations cases from intake through resolution.
Provide guidance to managers on employee performance concerns, conduct issues, attendance, workplace conflict, and policy violations.
Conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations involving employee complaints, harassment allegations, discrimination concerns, retaliation claims, and other workplace issues.
Document investigations, findings, recommendations, and outcomes in accordance with company standards.
Analyze case trends and recommend proactive actions to reduce recurring workplace issues.
Strengthen leader decisions and workforce transitions
Coach leaders on effective employee management practices.
Partner with managers on performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and separation decisions.
Provide recommendations that balance business needs, employee experience, legal compliance, and organizational values.
Support organizational changes, restructures, and workforce transitions.
Ensure policy consistency and employment compliance
Interpret and apply company policies consistently across the organization.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Partner with Legal and HR leadership on complex employee relations matters.
Assist with reviewing and updating policies, procedures, and workplace practices.
Maintain knowledge of employment law developments and emerging workplace trends.
Advance respectful workplace practices and conflict resolution
Facilitate conversations and interventions to resolve workplace conflicts.
Promote respectful workplace behaviors and foster positive employee relations.
Support employee engagement initiatives and help leaders address workplace concerns proactively.
Serve as a trusted resource for employees seeking guidance on workplace issues.
Improve employee relations insight, capability, and processes
Maintain accurate case documentation and records.
Track key employee relations metrics and trends.
Prepare reports and insights for HR leadership regarding case volume, themes, risks, and resolution effectiveness.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, manager capability, and employee experience.
Build Leader Capability and Workforce Consistency
Develop and deliver training for leaders on employee relations best practices.
Educate managers on performance management, documentation, investigations, accommodations, and policy application.
Support the creation of tools, templates, and playbooks that improve consistency across the organization.
Improve service quality by using AI and digital tools
Use approved AI and digital tools to simplify work, improve service quality, and increase efficiency, while validating outputs for accuracy, privacy, and business alignment.
Identify and escalate inaccurate information and knowledge gaps, or issues related to digital tools
Education/Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent, demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with significant employee relations responsibility.
Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and managing complex employee relations matters.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
Experience advising managers on performance management, corrective action, and terminations.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with HRIS and case management systems.
Proficient at using AI and digital tools
Preferred: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
Experience supporting multi-state workforces.
Experience in financial services, professional services, or other highly regulated industries.
Experience leveraging HR technology and AI-enabled tools to improve HR processes and case management.
WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. To comply with state, pay transparency laws, we must disclose the entire salary grade. The entire salary grade for those who are classified as this level is $87,400.00 - $131,000.00. However, the base salary range bolded above ($105,000.00 to $120,000.00) is what we expect to pay as a starting range for this position.
