At Vanta, our mission is to help businesses earn and prove trust. We believe that security should be monitored and verified continuously, and we empower companies to practice better security and prove it with ease. Vanta has a kind and talented team, and while some have prior security experience, many have been successful at Vanta without it.

As a Senior Engineering Manager leading our Reporting & Enterprise Hub teams, you'll shape how Vanta's largest enterprise customers manage and visualize their compliance programs at scale. This role sits at the intersection of data products, enterprise scalability, and product innovation—delivering visibility and actionable insights that empower organizations like PE firms and JPMC-scale companies to manage complex compliance programs with strict financial boundaries between business units.

You'll build and lead a team of engineers across two distinct squads: the Reporting team focused on evolving our reporting product offering to meet enterprise data needs, and the Enterprise Hub team building management capabilities for large organizations managing GRC activities across multiple business units. This role represents an exciting opportunity to shape the future of how enterprise customers interact with their compliance data.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where you'll directly influence Vanta's ability to serve enterprise customers and multi-business-unit organizations. You'll navigate 0-1 product development opportunities while evolving traditional reporting into modern data products that integrate seamlessly with customer BI tools. With a strong growth trajectory and the potential for career advancement within our rapidly growing GRC organization, you'll tackle interesting technical challenges around scalable reporting infrastructure, data product architecture, and multi-tenancy at the business unit level.

What you’ll do as a Senior Engineering Manager at Vanta:

  • Build and scale two high-performing engineering teams by recruiting, hiring, and developing engineers across Reporting and Enterprise Hub, identifying talent gaps and continuously raising the bar

  • Drive execution on multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously, including reporting infrastructure improvements, Enterprise Hub development, and My Program dashboard capabilities

  • Set technical direction and guide product strategy for data products, working closely with 2 Product Managers and cross-functional partners to evolve our enterprise data strategy

  • Operate effectively in ambiguous environments, balancing 0-1 product development with infrastructure investments while maintaining team velocity and quality

  • Partner with Product, Design, and business stakeholders to define and push down compliance definitions across business units, creating a unified enterprise experience

  • Coach, mentor, and create an environment where your team can do their best work and deliver significant value to customers

  • Play an integral role in laying the foundation for Vanta's engineering culture

How to be successful in this role:

  • Have 5+ years of professional experience in a full-time engineering management role, with proven experience managing 10-15+ engineers across multiple teams or product areas

  • Have managed 2+ distinct product areas or teams simultaneously, demonstrating ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and define strategy where it doesn't exist

  • Possess strong technical depth—ideally as a former senior or staff engineer—with ability to guide data infrastructure and product architecture decisions

  • Have demonstrated track record of delivering results across multiple workstreams while maintaining quality and team velocity

  • Have experience setting product and technical strategy in partnership with Product and Design teams

  • Have participated in developing or driving engineering-wide initiatives in a prior role

  • Are a strong decision maker who effectively balances ambiguity, available data, speed, and quality

  • Can influence cross-functional stakeholders and adjacent teams as an effective communicator and story-teller

  • Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact

What you can expect as a Vanta'n:

  • Industry-competitive salary and equity

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with 100% of employee-only benefit premiums covered for most medical plans

  • 16 weeks paid Parental Leave for all new parents

  • Health & wellness stipend

  • Remote workspace, internet, and cellphone stipend

  • Commuter benefits for team members who report to the SF and NYC office

  • Family planning benefits

  • Matching 401(k) contribution with immediate vesting

  • Flexible PTO policy, plus 80 hours of Sick Time

  • 11 company-paid holidays

  • Virtual team building activities, lunch and learns, and other company-wide events!

  • Offices in SF, NYC, London, Dublin, Tel Aviv, and Sydney

At Vanta, we are committed to hiring diverse talent of different backgrounds and as such, it is important to us to provide an inclusive work environment for all. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender identity, age, religion, sexual orientation, veteran or disability status, or any other protected class. As an equal opportunity employer, we encourage and welcome people of all backgrounds to apply.

About Vanta

We started in 2018, in the wake of several high-profile data breaches. Online security was only becoming more important, but we knew firsthand how hard it could be for fast-growing companies to invest the time and manpower it takes to build a solid security foundation. Vanta was inspired by a vision to restore trust in internet businesses by enabling companies to improve and prove their security. From our early days automating security monitoring for compliance standards like SOC 2, HIPAA and ISO 27001 to creating the world's leading Trust Management Platform, our vision remains unchanged.

Now more than ever, making security continuous—not just a point-in-time check— is essential. Thousands of companies rely on Vanta to build, maintain and demonstrate their trust— all in a way that's real-time and transparent.
