Job Description:

About Nextpower

Nextpower is a global leader in intelligent power and software solutions that optimize generation for utility-scale solar projects. Our mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to renewable energy. We are seeking a Senior Engineering Program Manager to lead the development and deployment of advanced power conversion solutions critical to our products.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Program Manager to lead the development and deployment of power conversion systems integral to Nextpower’s technology. This is a technical program leadership role for someone who can operate comfortably at the intersection of engineering depth and execution rigor.

The right candidate be a strong engineering program leader who will drive programs through execution while engaging deeply with electrical, firmware, mechanical, and systems teams; understand technical tradeoffs and risks; and cross-functional dependencies from concept through validation, certification, industrialization, and production ramp.

The ideal candidate brings both hands-on engineering experience in power electronics and a proven ability to manage programs across multi-site, international teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end planning and execution of engineering programs for power electronics systems, including DC-DC, DC-AC, inverter, and grid-connected solutions.
  • Partner closely with engineering leads to translate technical strategy, architecture, and requirements into executable plans with clear milestones, dependencies, and decision points.
  • Lead cross-functional planning and execution across engineering, product management, supply chain, operations, quality, and external partners.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into executable program plans, ensuring alignment on scope, risk, and deliverables.
  • Manage program schedules, budgets, and resources to meet performance, cost, and timeline objectives.
  • Facilitate design reviews (schematic, layout, thermal, EMI/EMC), validation testing, and regulatory certification activities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to power electronics design, electrical performance, supply chain, and global manufacturing readiness.
  • Coordinate with international suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure successful product industrialization and ramp.
  • Establish and drive best practices for program management, engineering development processes, and cross-site collaboration.
  • Drive crisp cross-functional communication and decision-making across time zones, functions, and partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7–12+ years of experience, including:
    • Direct experience in power electronics engineering (design, validation, or applications)
    • Engineering program management leadership of complex hardware systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead hardware development programs involving power conversion systems, from concept through production.
  • An understanding of power electronics fundamentals, including inverters, medium voltage transformers, control systems, and thermal considerations.
  • Proven experience working with international, cross-cultural engineering teams across multiple time zones.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage deeply with technical teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills in fast-paced, matrixed environments.
  • Proficiency with program management tools (e.g., Jira, Jira Align, Confluence, or equivalent).
