Job Description
Your Team
As a member of the NorCal Finance team, the analyst will be involved in all aspects of financial reporting, cash management and financial operations for a portfolio of real estate investments. Due to the growing nature of the portfolio, the candidate will be expected to drive continuous improvement across all deliverables. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent interpersonal skills, is detail-oriented, possesses a high degree of intellectual curiosity and has a strong foundation in finance and accounting.
Your Key Deliverables
Reporting & Analysis:
- Assist in the monthly and quarterly financial close process for the land banking deals within the BWS / NASH portfolio, including:
- Preparing the consolidation and summarized financial results on a quarterly and annual basis for both internal management reporting and reporting to investors
- Maintain investment performance track record
- Assist in the preparation of annual business plan by providing the Corporate FP&A team with portfolio forecasts
- Support long term forecast with appropriate high level inputs
- Create templates, as necessary, to facilitate gathering budget inputs from divisions. Gather inputs and develop appropriate revenue, cost and investment assumptions, along with key operating metrics that can be tracked and measured
- Prepare specific analysis and special projects as required
Cash Management:
- Assist in cash management of the portfolio which includes:
- Tracking the expected inflows & outflows to ensure they occur as anticipated
- Monitoring the cash balances and projected cash flows within each entity and at the portfolio level to help determine when capital is needed / excess capital can be returned
- Prepare funding requests for approval
- Requesting payments for all related invoices
Other:
- Interact and support needs of other Brookfield divisions, such as legal, tax, compliance, and corporate accounting
- Assist in the implementation of new technology to enhance efficiency
- Perform other duties and ad hoc tasks
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related experience
- 5-7 years of relevant experience (public accounting a preference)
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability and initiative to handle increasing responsibility over time
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
