As a Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the CIB Payments, Merchant Services, you are an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality architecture solutions for various software applications on modern cloud-based technologies. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical architecture solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of project goals.

Job responsibilities

  • Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose technical approaches to meet current and future needs
  • Defines the technical target state of their product and drives achievement of the strategy
  • Participates in architecture governance bodies
  • Evaluates recommendations and provides feedback on new technologies
  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 8+ years hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Leverages enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate architecture analysis and decisioning across the product family, with human-in-the-loop validation and appropriate handling of sensitive data
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more software, applications, and architecture disciplines
  • Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture
  • Strong technical background with design and delivery experience with software patterns and principles
  • Strategic mindset in acquiring payments business -includes value added services for optimizing payments, risk, vault, token and other protection payments solutions like encryption, 3DS 
  • Experience with in-store or eCommerce merchant payments
  • Demonstrated experience applying enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment in architecture and engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity
  • Ability to evaluate and integrate AI-enabled capabilities into enterprise-grade architectures while meeting resiliency, security, and auditability requirements
  • Establishes reuse-first AI-enabled engineering patterns and governance across SDLC/toolchain practices, ensuring traceability/auditability, resiliency, and security controls

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Ability to understand business requirements, create design, create technical delivery roadmap and technical know how's
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Experience as a functional architect (business / product)
  • Experience with domain model, understands business process flow, client experience and use cases
  • Understands business capability, features taxonomy
  • Strong communication and leadership presence
  • Point of Sale experience is a plus
  • Device / Estatement management experience is a plus
