Summary

At Smarsh, we help regulated organizations capture, archive, and harness their communications data — turning compliance into a strategic advantage. We’re now seeking a Brand, PR & Communications Senior Manager to elevate how the world sees and experiences the Smarsh brand.

In this role, you’ll drive brand visibility, reputation, and influence across global markets. Reporting to our VP of Brand Marketing, you’ll lead integrated brand, PR, and communications strategies that showcase Smarsh as the category leader in communications intelligence and the trusted partner for compliance-driven innovation.

This is a strategic, high-impact position for a communications leader who thrives at the intersection of brand storytelling, reputation management, and data-driven marketing—leveraging AI to create more compelling content, insights, and campaigns that amplify impact.

How will you contribute?

Brand Leadership

  • Execute a brand strategy that positions Smarsh as the market leader in communications intelligence and compliance innovation.
  • Ensure the Smarsh brand is expressed consistently and powerfully across all channels, campaigns, and experiences.
  • Partner with design, product, and BU marketing teams to bring the brand to life through clear, data-backed storytelling and creative execution.
  • Measure and report on brand health, share of voice, media sentiment, and coverage quality, benchmarking against key competitors to track brand strength, perception, and progress.

Public Relations & Media

  • Partner with the VP of Brand Marketing to lead global PR strategy that’s AIO optimized/discoverable to continue to elevate Smarsh’s presence across top-tier technology, financial services, and compliance media.
  • Partner with our U.S. and U.K. PR agencies to build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, analysts, and industry influencers.
  • Identify and engage with both traditional media and digital influencers to amplify Smarsh’s leadership in data, AI, and compliance-driven innovation.
  • Manage executive visibility programs, including media interviews, thought leadership platforms, speaking opportunities, and awards.
  • Own crisis communications response with clarity, speed, and confidence during sensitive or high-impact situations.

Campaign & Content Oversight

  • Oversee development and execution of integrated brand and communications campaigns that advance Smarsh’s positioning and market visibility.
  • Collaborate with demand generation, product marketing, and digital teams to align storytelling with pipeline goals and product narratives.
  • Lead development of core messaging, press materials, thought leadership, and customer success storytelling that highlights real-world impact.

Customer Advocacy

  • Partner with business units to source and nurture customer advocates aligned to key products, regions, and segments.
  • Turn customer success into compelling stories, testimonials, logos, and use cases that reinforce Smarsh’s leadership.
  • Activate advocates across PR, media, case studies, speaking engagements, awards, and integrated campaigns.

What will you bring?

  • 10+ years of experience in global brand management, PR, or communications — ideally within B2B technology, SaaS, or regulated industries.
  • Proven success developing and executing integrated brand, PR, and communications strategies that drive measurable impact.
  • Strong experience managing agencies, media, and influencer relationships across regions.
  • Expertise in reputation management and crisis communications, with sound judgment and strategic agility.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring direct reports.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills — able to translate complex technology into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Collaborative, agile, and results-driven leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments

Why Smarsh?

  • At Smarsh, we don’t just help organizations meet compliance requirements — we empower them to turn their communications data into intelligence. You’ll join a global team of innovators who are shaping the future of compliance, AI, and data activation for some of the world’s most trusted brands.
