The Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist or a Sr Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position may be based in Palmdale, CA.

  • Location: Palmdale, CA
  • Schedule: 9/80 work schedule – every other Friday OFF; no telework available
  • Organization: Global Supply Chain

Responsibilities include:

  • Define and develop material strategies to support program and production needs.
  • Assess supply chain resources; aggregate and prioritize demand requirements.
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute material forecasts and delivery schedules.
  • Participate in make/buy decisions, long‑term capacity and resource planning, product phase‑in/phase‑out, manufacturing ramp‑up, end‑of‑life and product-line management.
  • Lead affordability, cost‑savings, and/or process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Program Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, and Quality to resolve issues and meet manufacturing and test schedules.
  • Analyze purchase material supply/demand positions using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.
  • Analyze lead times and identify critical‑path procurements.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery at required quality levels for critical components.
  • Prioritize and communicate impacts of current and potential material shortages.

Basic Qualifications (Level 4):

  • Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years combined experience in Goods Movement, Subcontracts, Purchasing, Contracts, Finance, Logistics, Planning, or Project Management
    – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years combined experience in Goods Movement, Subcontracts, Purchasing, Contracts, Finance, Logistics, Planning, or Project Management
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems and experience working with and analyzing large data sets
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project)

Preferred Qualifications (Level 4):

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience with supplier management
  • Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to present information in an organized and effective manner
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems and complex data analysis
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings
  • Experience supporting proposal activities (roles and responsibilities)
  • Experience with SAP MES or similar manufacturing execution systems
  • Material management experience
  • People leadership experience and familiarity with DoD operations

Salary Range:
 

The above salary range is a general guideline. Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when extending an offer, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s experience, education, and skills, as well as current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may also be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director roles may be eligible for long‑term incentives. Northrop Grumman also provides a variety of benefits including health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plans, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).

Primary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
