As a member of the Steam Power Fossil Sales Team you will be responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships that enable continued market success and further market penetration in your assigned region. Travel is expected, as needed, to maintain or develop customer relationships and continue business development.

Job Description

The Senior Sales Manager Fossil is responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships for the Steam Power Fossil Services portfolio in the assigned region. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: delivering on order expectations, developing customer specific strategies, maintaining existing customer relationships and developing weaker relationships, maintaining very strong data quality and accuracy for your portfolio and working to elevate GEV to a “Trusted Advisor” level.


In this role, you will be the primary lead for the Steam Power Fossil Services portfolio in your assigned region. Your core responsibilities include:

  • Relationship Management: Building and maintaining long-term customer partnerships, with a focus on elevating GE Vernova to a "Trusted Advisor" status.
  • Strategic Growth: Developing and executing customer-specific strategies to consistently meet or exceed order expectations.
  • Operational Excellence: Managing your portfolio with high precision, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and clear tracking of all regional opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/ or similar technical discipline OR a High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of experience in the Power Generation industry, specifically working with and maintaining deep knowledge of Steam Turbine and Generator technology.
  •  5+ years of experience in Marketing, Sales, Project Management, or Customer Service within the Power Generation sector 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Develop long term strategic plans by customer to drive market / customer penetration in support of Orders, Sales, Cash and Contribution Margin growth.
  • Maintain on-going customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction. 
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of internal and external customers 
  • Drive a sales pipeline on complex, multi-offering transactions that may include Parts, Repairs, Outage Services, Performance Upgrades, Long Term Service / Parts Agreements. 
  • Develop and maintain key Account Plans with detailed insights focused on Customer’s Strategy, Customer Policies, Organizational Structures, Buying Behaviors, Outage and Opportunity Forecasts.
  • Continuously monitor and drive the development of the opportunity pipeline for regional opportunities.
  • Provide leadership through the formulation and execution of proposal strategies that capitalize on GEV's competitive strengths to serve the customer's needs while meeting GEV’s business goals. 
  • Support the maintenance of accurate and current project and opportunity information in NEX for entire pipeline.  
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage and influence in a matrix environment. 
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. 
  • Time management skills and ability to work across functions. 
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Business acumen / analytic ability.
  • Provide demand forecasting and pacing support to Sales Operations / Finance. 
  • Work with Marketing and Product Line to help inform customer base of GEV product offerings vis Linked In posts.
  • Ability to travel about 50% of the time, or as needed, to maintain or develop customer relationships and continue business development.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $128,400.00 and $213,900.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: sales incentive.
