Build and ship end-to-end features across Vue.js and TypeScript interfaces, C#/.NET APIs, and PostgreSQL schemas. Work autonomously within a cross-functional squad to develop client and admin portals, improve scalability, ensure security and quality, and deliver production-ready software. Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex as a core development workflow, evaluate emerging tools, and help establish repeatable AI-assisted engineering practices.

About Allocate

Allocate is building the operating system for private markets. Wealth advisors and their clients use the platform to access, transact in, and manage private market investments. The platform supports 350+ advisory firms and 1,500+ GP relationships, with $ 5B+ in assets on the platform.

About The Role

Allocate is building the operating system for private markets, and this role sits at the center of the product. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will ship features end to end, from Postgres schema and C# APIs through to the Vue and TypeScript interfaces that advisors and their clients use every day to discover, model, transact in, and manage private market investments.

There is a lot for us to build, and we need an engineer with a genuinely broad skill set who can jump in and help lay the technical foundation for the company's future. You will work in a small, independent, cross-functional squad with real autonomy over what gets built and how, delivering critical features across both our client-facing and admin portals.

We are an AI-first engineering organization. Our engineers treat AI coding tools as a core part of the daily workflow, from agentic development through code review, and we expect everyone here to push the boundaries of what those tools can do. We are equally serious about keeping a human in the loop. Engineers own every line that ships, review AI-generated work with the same rigor they would apply to a colleague’s pull request, and stay accountable for the correctness, security, and maintainability of what reaches our clients. The tools accelerate the work; the engineering judgment is still yours.

What You’ll Own

Frontend & Client Experience

● Build rich but simple user experiences for new products using Vue.js and TypeScript, from first prototype through production.

● Partner with product and design to iterate on flows and user experience, then translate them into interfaces that hold up under real advisor workflows.

● Deliver frontend software that is correct, stable, and security compliant across both the client and admin portals.

Backend, APIs & Data

● Design and implement new features and endpoints in our C#/.NET backend APIs.

● Design and implement the schema changes those features require, with performance in mind: knowing when an index earns its keep, and on which fields.

● Build high-quality, scalable, testable code that drives engineering maturity and efficiency across the stack.

AI-First Delivery

● Own features end to end as part of an independent, cross-functional squad in an Agile development environment.

● Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex as a primary part of your workflow, not an occasional assist.

● Evaluate emerging tools and agentic workflows continuously, and bring what works back to the rest of engineering.

What Success Looks Like

• Within your first 90 days, you have shipped production features that span schema, API, and UI without needing a handoff at the boundary.

• Your work is correct, stable, and security compliant on the first pass, so issues are caught in review, not by clients.

• You operate autonomously: you take ambiguous problems, scope them, and drive them to a shipped outcome without supervision.

• You measurably raise the team's AI-assisted development bar, with faster cycle times and repeatable patterns other engineers adopt.

Who You Are

• 5–10 years of experience building web applications, including 5+ years of object-oriented software engineering (C#, Java, or similar).

• 3+ years of C# experience and 2+ years developing REST APIs.

• 3+ years with the Vue.js front-end framework and 1+ years with TypeScript.

• 5+ years with SQL-based databases (Postgres ideally), including the ability to design a schema that results in a performant application.

• A track record of delivering frontend software that is correct, stable, and security compliant, with strong attention to detail and a feel for what makes good user experience.

• An AI-first development mindset: real experience shipping production code with AI agents using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex, plus informed opinions on where those tools excel and where they fall short.

• Basic understanding of common AWS services (S3, CloudFront, ECS/EKS) and how to apply them to business problems.

• Proficiency with Git and the ability to work in a Git-based environment with standard work management tooling.

• Autonomy and ownership: you can work effectively without supervision.

• Entrepreneurial spirit: self-directed, innovative, biased toward action, and comfortable in ambiguity and even failure.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or an equivalent amount of real-world experience.

Nice to Have

• ASP.NET Web API development experience, plus familiarity with ORM concepts (Dapper, Entity Framework) and FluentMigrator.

• Experience with agentic workflows such as running async coding agents, MCP integrations, or custom tooling around LLMs.

• Docker and Docker Compose experience, and familiarity with CI pipelines.

• DevOps experience (Terraform, AWS, ECS/EKS).

Essential Values & Culture

Providing our clients with a world-class experience is our number one priority. We obsessively search for ways to improve the experience for our clients and partners. This requires extraordinary response times, proactivity, and ensuring that everything we do, from product strategy to offline communications, reflects a top-tier client experience.

Challenge convention: Instead of detailing all the reasons why an idea may not work, we constantly question things to determine how a viable idea may be put into motion.

Commitment to continuous improvement: We find ways to personally scale each day by pushing ourselves up the learning curve.

Meritocracy, not politics: We place the utmost value on results and rewards through merit, not reward actions driven by political agendas or behavior.

Civil Discourse is embraced: We believe open, intellectually curious conversations are required to consistently arrive at the best decisions. Respect is paramount in our dealings with one another, but our mission is always to get the right answer collectively, not to be right.

Embrace technological change: We adopt tools and techniques that make us faster, smarter, and better. We stay open to innovation, especially around AI and automation, and drop outdated methods without hesitation. This includes actively integrating AI-assisted tools into your daily workflow and staying current as the landscape evolves. Complacency kills progress, and we value adaptability and curiosity.
