Role Description

  • The Sr. SQA Engineer will join the software team and play a hands on role testing and validating software for our Pyxa™ Instrument, analytical software and panel / probe design software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for thick client C# applications, web applications, cloud applications and Bioinformatics pipelines.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing on software that interfaces with hardware systems.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, electrical, systems engineers and Bioinformatics, along with other stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve issues.
  • Automate test cases using appropriate tools and frameworks to improve testing efficiency.
  • Participate in Pull Request reviews and provide feedback / testing to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in software quality assurance.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics or a related field.
  • 6-8 years, proven experience as an SQA Engineer, preferably with genomics pipelines, cloud applications and data visualization applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Windows, Linux and cloud environments (Azure preferred).
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, NUnit, SpecFlow).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience using Visual Studio to pull, build and test software.
  • Working knowledge of Python, NumPy, SciPy, PyTorch.
  • Experience working at a lab bench and able to pipette samples.
  • Experience working in Biotechnology or other high throughput imaging-based field.
