The Role: Sr Solutions Architect

We are seeking an AWS Pre-Sales Solution Architect to expand our Solutions Architecture team, working within an industry-specific vertical to drive technical pre-sales excellence and customer success. This role blends hands-on solution architecture with people management, focusing on enhancing team expertise, standardizing best practices, and delivering high-quality, technical solutions tailored to client environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop client-facing deliverables — including high-level solution summaries, proposals, staffing models, Statements of Work (SOWs), and responses to RFPs/RFIs — translating complex cloud architectures into clear, commercially sound engagements.
  • Lead the scoping of workshops, assess, mobilize, and execution of migrating on-premises applications and legacy data centers to AWS.
  • Design robust cloud security, identity, and access management (IAM) strategies, ensuring adherence to industry regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Drive infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform to build automated CI/CD pipelines.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and managing the sales cycle from requirements gathering to handoff to delivery.
  • Own the proposal approval lifecycle — coordinating cross-functional review cycles, managing internal stakeholder sign-off, and ensuring all client-facing deliverables meet Presidio's quality and standards.
  • Develop and implement standardized methodologies for solution design, deployment, and optimization, incorporating industry-specific frameworks.

  Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, delivery, or similar customer-facing technical roles.
  • 3+ years of experience in delivery and pre-sales of consulting and advisory services for strategic solutions such as IT strategy, Application Placement, and Cloud Governance
  • Deep AWS expertise across core services (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, EKS, etc.), with strong working knowledge of container orchestration (EKS, ECS), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and AWS Well-Architected principles.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence — able to command the room with both technical architects and C-suite stakeholders, translating complex AWS solutions into compelling business value narratives.
  • Strong cloud migration and modernization background — including experience architecting lift-and-shift, re-platform, and re-architect solutions across diverse enterprise environments and industries.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and modern application architectures — including microservices, serverless, and event-driven patterns on AWS — enabling credible, forward-looking solution conversations with clients.
  • Experience in solution design methodologies and technical best practices that drive consistency and quality across the team.

              Required Technical Skills:

              • Expert-level knowledge of AWS core services: EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, EKS, ECS, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53, and AWS Organizations.
              • Proficiency in AWS Well-Architected Framework across all five pillars.
              • Hands-on experience designing multi-account, multi-region AWS architectures for enterprise environments.
              • Demonstrated experience architecting cloud migration strategies including lift-and-shift, re-platform, and re-architect approaches.
              • Familiarity with AWS or third party migration tooling.
              • Experience using AWS Pricing Calculator and building cost models for client estimates and proposals.
              • Active AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional certification is highly preferred.
