Job Description:

Senior Supply Chain Systems Architect

Role Summary

Owns the architecture of the systems that plan, source, make, move, and fulfill our products, and make sure they work as one coherent landscape. This is a hands-on senior role with enterprise influence: you partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Sourcing, Logistics, and Planning, and work across functions such as Engineering and Finance, to turn how the business runs into target-state architecture. You own the architecture and, together with the IT delivery team, are accountable for getting it built at an accelerated pace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work side by side with supply chain stakeholders and the IT delivery team to understand how the business runs today, assess gaps and pain points, and jointly define the future architecture.
  • Understand end-to-end flows (plan-to-produce, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, engineering-change-to-build, return-to-restock) and find where system boundaries, handoffs, or data gaps create cost, delay, or risk.
  • Challenge legacy workarounds: design process and system together and simplify or standardize processes before automating them.
  • Drive delivery of those architectural patterns and improvements, working closely with the technical teams. Look for quick wins and drive solutions that fit the overall architecture.
  • Advise on and pilot emerging technology to address supply chain problems.
  • Ensure resilience, security, and SOX and trade-compliance controls are designed in.
  • Own integration patterns and master data across ERP, PLM, planning, WMS/TMS, and supplier portals, including the PLM-to-ERP handoff.
  • Build the multi-year roadmap: rationalize overlapping applications, sequence migrations, make build, buy, and retire calls, and onboard acquired businesses.

Supply Chain Process Scope

You will be expected to understand, and design systems around, the full chain:

  • Plan: demand planning, S&OP/IBP, supply planning, MPS/MRP, capacity and constraint management, allocation.
  • Source: supplier selection and onboarding, contracts and pricing, RFQ and sourcing events, purchase requisitions and orders, supplier collaboration and performance.
  • Make: BOM and routing management, engineering change control, work orders, contract-manufacturer execution, quality, and shop-floor visibility.
  • Move: inventory management and costing, warehousing, transportation and freight, import/export and trade compliance, landed cost.
  • Fulfillment and return: order management, available-to-promise, shipment and delivery, returns, warranty, and spares.
  • Cross Functional: item and supplier master data, financial close and controls, and supply chain analytics and risk.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years in supply chain technology, 5+ as an architect or technical lead on multi-system landscapes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Deep, practical understanding of supply chain processes end to end, with the credibility to hold design conversations with supply chain leaders and process owners.
  • Hands-on knowledge of the hard process problems: BOM and engineering-change management, multi-echelon inventory, constrained supply and allocation, supplier collaboration, landed cost, and trade compliance.
  • Understands how process decisions drive system design: for example, how planning cadence, lead-time and safety-stock policy, and sourcing rules shape data models and integrations.
  • Proven architecture across ERP, PLM, planning, and WMS/TMS platforms (for example Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM, SAP, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis).
  • Strong integration and data architecture: APIs, event-driven patterns, iPaaS/EDI, master data governance.
  • Led architecture through a major transformation (ERP migration, platform consolidation, or post-acquisition integration).
  • Proven experience with future-looking technology in supply chain, such as AI/ML-driven planning and forecasting, control towers and digital twins, intelligent automation, and composable, cloud-native architectures, with sound judgment on what is production-ready and what is still hype.
  • Explains architecture trade-offs clearly to supply chain executives and engineers alike, and collaborates across functions to influence outcomes

Nice to Have

  • Experience unifying an acquisition-built portfolio under a shared architecture, including PLM-to-ERP and procurement consolidation.
  • Master's degree (MS in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Computer Science, or an MBA); TOGAF or ASCM (CSCP/CPIM) certification.
