About your role:

Fiserv is a global leader in financial technology, and our Clover platform provides smart Point-of-Sale (POS) and business management networks that move money securely for millions of businesses daily. As a Senior Fullstack Engineer on the Loyalty Program team, you will help improve and expand our platform by building applications, creating new features, and re-architecting systems for better scalability and availability across the Clover Dashboard. Partnering with Infrastructure, Product, and Design teams, you will own your services from development through deployment, mentor junior talent, and help drive the technical roadmap for products that support over 700,000 merchants worldwide.

What you’ll do:

  • Architect, design, and develop web-based front-end applications and backend microservices primarily using Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Python.
  • Design, implement, and maintain performant REST APIs for web clients, devices, mobile apps, and 3rd-party integrations.
  • Own services and features end-to-end from initial development through deployment, production monitoring, and on-call release management rotations.
  • Promote the effective use of AI-powered software engineering and productivity tools (AI coding assistants, test generation, code reviews, documentation, and incident analysis) to improve developer efficiency and code quality.
  • Translate product requirements into functional, extensible software while partnering with cross-functional, distributed Agile teams to assist with project planning and feature development.
  • Partner with the Infrastructure and QA teams to design data models supporting large-scale, highly available services and develop comprehensive test plans.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers, advocate engineering best practices with a CI/CD DevOps mindset, and help define the technical software roadmap.
  • Triage bugs, resolve operational issues, participate in design/code reviews, and evaluate modern frameworks to improve product performance.
  • Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.

Experience you’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on Fullstack engineering.
  • Strong backend coding skills with deep expertise in Java as a primary language, alongside experience using Spring Boot to build microservices.
  • Professional front-end engineering experience using React and TypeScript.
  • Proven experience using and championing AI-based software engineering and productivity tools (e.g., AI coding assistants, automated testing, code quality analysis, operational intelligence tools) to accelerate delivery.
  • Strong working knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL) and document databases (e.g., MongoDB).

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Previous experience in the payments or fintech industry.
  • Hands-on background in re-architecting legacy systems for high availability, performance, and scale.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Kubernetes (K8s), AWS Lambda, LLM prompting techniques, Kotlin, or Python.

How you’ll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.

Benefits at Fiserv:

  • Paid holidays and generous time away policies
  • No-cost mental health support through Employee Assistance Programs
