We're hiring a Staff Lead Engineer, Interior Cockpit - a high-impact technical leader who brings bold thinking, deep engineering expertise, and a relentless commitment to execution excellence. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced, high-visibility environments and want to influence how next-generation vehicle interiors are designed, engineered, and launched.
As a senior technical expert, you will guide teams across Instrument Panels, Floor Consoles, Decorative Trim, and Interior Lighting. You will shape design direction, elevate execution discipline, and help deliver world-class interior quality and customer experiences.
This is a force-multiplier role for someone who elevates teams, solves difficult problems, and drives meaningful change across programs and platforms.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Technical Leadership & Execution Excellence
  • Lead the design, development, and launch of interior cockpit systems
  • Mentor engineers to strengthen technical rigor and execution capability
  • Ensure delivery on time, on cost, and on quality

Innovation, Strategy & Continuous Improvement
  • Improve materials, processes, and system architecture to enhance quality, manufacturability, cost, and speed
  • Drive best-practice adoption, read-across, and closed-loop learning
  • Partner cross-functionally to shape the interior cockpit roadmap

Problem Solving & Cross-Functional Influence
  • Lead resolution of complex, high-visibility technical challenges
  • Support urgent or off-hours issue resolution when required
  • Influence teams without direct authority

Program Leadership & Collaboration
  • Manage multiple programs and priorities
  • Work with internal teams, suppliers, and global partners
  • Travel for builds, supplier engagement, and program support

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in interior systems (IP, Floor Consoles, Decorative Trim, or Interior Lighting)
  • Expertise in injection-molded trim, foam-in-place, thermoformed skins, and cut-and-sew wrapped substrates
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory, performance, and validation requirements
  • Proven success launching interior subsystems through SOP
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to lead independently while owning outcomes

What Will Give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in interior systems (IP, Floor Consoles, Decorative Trim, or Interior Lighting)
  • Design release or manufacturing engineering experience
  • DFSS Master Black Belt or DFSS Black Belt
