Who is Boulevard?

Boulevard provides the first and only client experience platform for appointment-based, self-care businesses. We empower our customers to give their clients more of the magical moments that matter most.

Before launching in 2016, our founders spent months interviewing salon managers and working behind front desks to understand their pain points so we could design a modern, user-friendly platform that meets the unique needs of their business. Our roots may be in hair salons, but we are built for the broader self-care industry, including many types of salons, spas, medspa, barbershops, and more. Our technology not only helps our customers survive but thrive. Take a look at how we (and YOU) can make that happen.

We have an insatiable curiosity and embrace experimentation. We believe that simple solutions require the most sophistication, and we design each and every detail to maximize potential, power, and impact. Do our values match? Read through our story and what we value the most.

Our team values and celebrates our diverse backgrounds. Being open about who we are and what we do allows us to do the best work of our lives. We believe in equal opportunity for all, and you should too.

Come Do the Best Work of Your Life at Boulevard

Boulevard is the Client Experience Platform purpose-built for appointment-based, self-care businesses. As we continue to move upmarket, support increasingly complex franchise businesses, and expand internationally, our platform must scale with flexibility, reliability, and intelligence at its core.

The Client Experience pod owns the end-to-end journey of Boulevard's clients. From discovery and booking to self-management, communications, and beyond. As a Staff Product Designer, Client Experiences, you'll operate at a highly strategic level, shaping the flows, patterns, and frameworks that define how clients interact with Boulevard-powered businesses while staying deeply empathetic, intuitive, and conversion-focused.

This is a high-impact role for a designer who thrives at the intersection of business outcomes and human behavior, thinks holistically about client journeys, and wants to influence not just individual features, but how an entire client-facing ecosystem evolves.

What You'll Do

  • Lead client experience design strategy in close partnership with Product and Engineering, defining success metrics and ensuring work ladders up to long-term company goals.
  • Design end-to-end client journeys, patterns, and frameworks that enable scalable, personalized, and experiences across the entire Boulevard's ecosystem.
  • Help evolve the client experience to support:
    • Seamless online booking flows that reduce friction and increase conversion
    • Client self-management around appointments, profiles, preferences, loyalty, and more.
    • Communication touchpoints including confirmations, reminders, follow-ups, marketing, as well as direct communication.
  • Translate deeply human needs into clear and compelling client-facing experiences.
  • Partner closely with engineers to guide implementation, ensuring design intent is preserved in production.
  • Act as a design leader and multiplier raising the quality bar, influencing peers, and contributing to design culture, standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other designers to evolve Boulevard's design system to support client-facing complexity and future growth.
  • Explore and help define how Boulevard can leverage AI to enhance the client experience. From smarter booking flows to personalized recommendations with a strong focus on trust, clarity, and real client value.

What You'll Need to Thrive

  • Deep empathy for clients and a strong instinct for what makes experiences feel effortless and trustworthy.
  • Deep understanding of the full, iterative design process, including research, journey mapping, content design, wireframing, prototyping, testing, and high-fidelity execution.
  • Proven ability to design for conversion, retention, and engagement. Balancing business goals with a high-quality client experience.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping teams find clarity in evolving environments.
  • A strong point of view balanced with openness to feedback and iteration.
  • Ability to focus on outcomes over outputs, shipping thoughtfully while maintaining a high quality bar.
  • Proficiency with modern design and AI tools (e.g., Figma, Claude, Cursor).

Why This Role Matters

Clients are the heartbeat of every business on Boulevard. The experiences you design will shape how millions of people discover, book, and manage their self-care, and how they return to the businesses they love. The decisions you make will ripple across every salon, spa, and studio on our platform, directly impacting growth, retention, and client satisfaction for years to come.
