The role
You will be a senior individual contributor and de-facto product leader within Nium's Card Issuance team, owning a key segment of our B2B card product across the geographies we serve. You will drive the end-to-end product lifecycle—from discovery and roadmap through to launch and iteration—while shaping how emerging technologies such as AI tooling and stablecoins integrate with Nium's card platform.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You will partner closely with engineering, scheme relations, compliance, sales, and external programme clients to deliver world-class card experiences at scale.
Product Strategy & Roadmap
• Identify market opportunities in card-linked stablecoin settlement, AI-powered card controls, and embedded finance, and translate them into a prioritised backlog.
• Conduct competitive analysis and customer research to stay ahead of trends in card issuing, tokenisation, and digital money.
Technical Execution
• Drive integrations with card schemes (Visa, Mastercard, Discover), issuer processors, and digital wallet providers, ensuring compliance with scheme certification requirements.
• Partner with engineering to evaluate and integrate AI-powered tooling into card operations workflows—such as real-time fraud scoring, spend analytics, and automated dispute management.
• Lead the definition of stablecoin-to-card settlement flows, working with treasury, compliance, and engineering to design compliant, scalable infrastructure.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
• Collaborate with Regulatory, Compliance, and Risk teams to understand market-specific requirements and embed them into the product.
• Partner with the Programme Manager, Solution Engineering, and Sales to ensure new card programmes are onboarded smoothly and leverage existing platform capabilities.
Data & Performance
• Champion data instrumentation across card features to enable self-serve analytics for internal and client-facing stakeholders.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate insight generation, reduce manual overhead in PM workflows, and improve the quality and speed of product decision-making
What You Bring
Essential
• Hands-on experience with card scheme protocols (Visa and/or Mastercard), transaction lifecycles (authorisation, clearing, settlement, chargebacks), and ISO 8583 messaging.
• Demonstrated ability to write detailed technical specifications and work shoulder-to- shoulder with engineering and architecture teams.
• Proven track record of launching and scaling card products internationally across multiple markets and regulatory environments.
• Strong command of AI productivity tools integrated into daily PM practice — including tools for requirements drafting, data analysis, user research synthesis, and workflow automation.
• Understanding of stablecoins: mechanics of fiat-backed stablecoins, mint/burn flows, on-chain settlement, and their applicability to card-based payment rails.
• Analytical rigour—comfortable forming and testing hypotheses with data, running A/B experiments, and defining success metrics before building.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills; able to present complex technical and regulatory trade-offs to senior leadership and external clients.
Highly Desirable
• Exposure to tokenisation (network tokenisation, digital wallets such as Apple Pay / Google Pay).
• Hands-on experience designing or launching a stablecoin-funded card or settlement product.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing e-money, prepaid cards, and digital assets across APAC, EU, or US markets.
• Experience working in a global, multi-timezone product team serving diverse B2B clients.
