This role offers the opportunity to shape a new data product portfolio and influence how data powers future innovation at Intuitive. You will work at the intersection of healthcare, robotics, AI/ML, clinical research, and platform product strategy.

You will have meaningful leadership visibility, broad cross-functional exposure, and the opportunity to build foundational products that help teams move faster, make better decisions, and unlock new value from data.

We are seeking a Staff Product Manager, Data Strategy & Products to define and scale connected data products that accelerate AI/ML development, clinical research, product innovation, and future health system-facing services.

This role will lead product discovery, prioritization, business case development, and roadmap execution across a complex stakeholder landscape. The successful candidate will turn ambiguous opportunities into clear product bets, investment recommendations, and measurable outcomes.

Product Strategy & Roadmap

• Own the vision, strategy, and 12-18 month roadmap for connected data products (linked Intuitive robotic systems data with patient and hospital data).
• Prioritize opportunities across in-market product enhancement, platform capabilities, and future partner-facing data services.
• Translate business needs into clear product outcomes, phased plans, and success metrics.

Customer & Stakeholder Discovery

• Engage customers and health system partners, where appropriate, to understand external needs and value drivers.
• Synthesize insights into product requirements, user journeys, and prioritization recommendations.

Opportunity Evaluation & Business Cases

• Evaluate opportunities through desirability, viability, feasibility, risk, and strategic fit.
• Build business cases that quantify impact on research velocity, development cycle time, innovation enablement, and enterprise value.
• Recommend investment trade-offs that balance quick wins with scalable platform foundations.

Cross-Functional Execution

• Define product requirements, adoption goals, release plans, dependencies, and stakeholder communication plans.
• Facilitate roadmap reviews, prioritization forums, and execution checkpoints.
• Partner with engineering, data science, architecture, governance, security, privacy, clinical, regulatory, and commercial teams to execute the roadmap.

Leadership Communication

• Present strategy, business cases, roadmap options, and trade-offs to senior leadership.
• Influence investment decisions by connecting product choices to business outcomes and Intuitive’s innovation strategy.
• Build trusted partnerships across functions and serve as a product leader for data-driven innovation.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of product management, product strategy, data product, platform product, or related experience.
• Track record leading complex initiatives from discovery through roadmap definition and execution.
• Experience building business cases, prioritization frameworks, and measurable product outcomes.
• Strong partnership with engineering, data, analytics, AI/ML, research, or platform teams.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and align competing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills, including executive-ready storytelling and clear written recommendations.
• Strong analytical skills across qualitative discovery and quantitative impact assessment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data platforms, enterprise data products, healthcare technology, medical devices, or life sciences.
• Familiarity with healthcare data, governance, privacy, interoperability, or regulated environments.
• Experience interfacing with health system executives (ie. surgical leaders, data and informatics leaders, financial and operational leaders).
• Experience supporting research, clinical innovation, machine learning development, or data-driven product development.
• MBA or advanced degree in business, engineering, data science, healthcare, or related field preferred but not required.

business need and/or on the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge and skills.
Compensation will be based primarily on the job level at which the role is filled and the
candidate’s qualifications, consistent with applicable law.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
