As a Staff Product Manager - Public Charging , you will lead the strategy, definition, and delivery of GM's public charging experiences across in-vehicle and mobile touchpoints.
You will be accountable for shaping a cohesive, end-to-end journey for EV drivers, ensuring that finding, using, and paying for public charging is simple, reliable, and delightful.
In this role, you will operate as a product leader and thought partner across the organization - setting vision and priorities, aligning stakeholders, and driving execution on complex, cross-functional initiatives. You will combine a deep understanding of EV driver needs, the public charging ecosystem, and GM's technical platforms to make high-quality decisions, trade-offs, and bets.
You will be expected to raise the bar on product quality and customer experience and represent public charging in executive and cross-functional forums - ensuring GM's products not only meet today's needs but anticipate where public charging is headed next.
What You'll Do
  • Define and evangelize product vision & roadmap for public charging experiences across multiple digital touchpoints (embedded in-vehicle applications, mobile and web).
  • Partner with key stakeholders - engineering, design, operations, marketing, business, and external partners to align on strategy, priorities, and success metrics.
  • Deeply understand customer needs and translate them into clear product requirements, leading to new product development and enhancements to existing products.
  • Drive execution to aggressive launch timelines , balancing quality, scope, and time based on business needs and customer impact.
  • Generate and assess end-to-end workflows , ensuring they deliver innovative, intuitive, and reliable user experiences for EV drivers.
  • Ensure products achieve user and business goals , optimizing for efficiency, effectiveness, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Champion user-centered design practices , including defining user personas, scenarios, and success metrics, and supporting user research activities.
  • Collaborate closely with UX teams to test and refine designs and prototypes, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives, and continuously suggesting UI/UX improvements.
  • Leverage data and insights (quantitative and qualitative) to inform prioritization, refine roadmap, and iterate on product performance post-launch.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • 7+ years of product management experience , with clear ownership across the full lifecycle: inception, definition, MVP launch, user/usage research, roadmap prioritization, and ongoing delivery.
  • Proven strategic mindset with a passion for building and shipping great products and user experiences.
  • Strong technical and business acumen , including understanding of system architecture, unit economics, and trade-offs in complex platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience designing intuitive and effective user experiences that solve real customer problems.`
  • Experience building customer-facing products in domains such as mobility, automotive, transportation, or productivity.
  • Cross-functional fluency across business, legal, engineering, UX, strategy and marketing.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills , with the ability to adapt product strategy based on research, data, and industry trends.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Understanding of electric vehicle charging , including:
    • Strong familiarity with EV charging technologies, standards, and business models .
    • Deep understanding of the U.S. public charging ecosystem , including major charging networks, roaming, interoperability, incentives, policy/regulatory landscape, and typical EV driver use cases.
  • Experience with location-based services and map-centric applications .
  • Experience in working with third-party partnerships .
  • Experience creating SaaS platforms and products , ideally in high-availability, data-intensive environments.
  • Experience with billing and payments , including pricing models, subscriptions, discounts, and transaction flows.
  • Experience building global (multi-language, multi-region) systems , including localization and regional customization.
  • Software development background (e.g., prior experience as an engineer or strong technical literacy) enabling effective collaboration with engineering teams.

Compensation : The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as geography of the selected candidate. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.
• The salary range for this role is 159,400 and 245,700. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.

Company vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, though which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Note: program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.
