About Databricks

At Databricks, we are passionate about enabling data teams to solve the world's toughest problems — from making the next mode of transportation a reality to accelerating the development of medical breakthroughs. We do this by building and running the world's best data and AI infrastructure platform so our customers can use deep data insights to improve their business. Founded by engineers — and customer obsessed — we leap at every opportunity to solve technical challenges, from designing next-gen UI/UX for interfacing with data to scaling our services and infrastructure across millions of virtual machines. And we're only getting started.

The Role

As enterprise AI adoption accelerates globally, the Databricks Marketplace serves as a core engine for third-party innovation, enabling organizations to discover, share, and commercialize data assets, AI models, and applications. We are looking for an Operations Lead to own and scale the end-to-end operational engine behind our Marketplace. In this high-visibility position, you will establish operational excellence across partner and transaction approvals, marketplace health, deal desk support, catalog integrity, and partner and customer retention initiatives.

This role is for a hands-on builder who is as comfortable running operations as building the tools behind them. Beyond running day-to-day workstreams, you will actively architect and deploy tools, automations, and AI-driven workflows to scale the platform. Partnering cross-functionally across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Field leadership, you will remove friction, shape our Marketplace product, and help guide our go-to-market direction. This is an individual-contributor role today, with the opportunity to build and lead a team as the Marketplace scales.

The Impact You’ll Have

  • Architect, manage, and scale end-to-end operational workflows for partner eligibility and onboarding, transaction approvals, catalog health, and featured listing placements.
  • Own the health and integrity of the Marketplace: monitor key signals, establish quality controls, and support Deal Desk on complex commercial transactions.
  • Design and deploy custom tools, automations, and AI-assisted workflows (leveraging Python, low-code tools, workflow platforms, or agentic AI) to reduce operational friction and accelerate throughput.
  • Drive retention campaigns and cross-functional operational cadences aligned with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Field teams.
  • Partner on go-to-market efforts, driving transaction pipeline growth and strategic partner and customer deals.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum Qualifications
    • 8+ years of operational leadership experience across Business Operations, Product Operations, Technical Program Management, or scaling operational functions within a fast-paced technology environment.
    • Demonstrated "builder" capability: hands-on experience designing and shipping automations or operational tools using a mix of Python, low-code/RPA platforms, workflow platforms, or modern AI, LLM, and agent tooling.
    • Proven track record of full operational ownership over end-to-end processes, approval gates, and quality control systems rather than pure analytical reporting.
    • Strong cross-functional collaboration and leadership skills, with a history of aligning priorities across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Field organizations.
    • Exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to move fast and keep a high bar for accuracy in ambiguous situations.
    • Direct experience with enterprise software marketplaces, two-sided platform ecosystems, or cloud commerce environments.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience scaling a marketplace, platform, or commerce operation through a high-growth phase.
    • Familiarity with software commercial structures, Deal Desk operations, or strategic partner GTM programs.
    • Experience quickly adopting next-generation AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, AI agents) to streamline personal or team productivity.
