Job Description:

We’re seeking a Staff People Experience Business Partner (PxBP) to drive the execution of people strategies that directly enable product innovation, engineering excellence, and scalable platform growth in Shield AI’s Hivemind organization. 

Reporting to the Sr. Director, PxBP, Hivemind, you will serve as a trusted advisor to senior Engineering leaders, partnering to build high-performing, resilient, and scalable technical organizations in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. 

This role is ideal for a business-first HR leader who understands how engineering organizations create value. You bring deep experience supporting Software Engineering, AI/ML, Product Engineering, or Platform teams and know how to align talent strategy with velocity, quality, and long-term technical capability. 

You are operationally strong, analytically driven, and comfortable navigating ambiguity. You simplify complexity, build scalable systems, and influence with credibility. Most importantly, you understand that exceptional talent, strong technical leadership, and effective team design are the foundation of product and innovation success. 

This is a hybrid/on-site role is based in San Mateo or San Diego, CA 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field required 
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including direct support of Engineering, Product, or technical organizations  
  • Demonstrated success partnering with senior Engineering leaders in a scaling organization  
  • Experience operating within a global People function that includes COEs and Shared Services 
  • Strong understanding of technical talent markets, job architecture, and leveling for engineering roles  
  • Experience leveraging HCM systems and people analytics to drive insights and decision-making 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a high-growth technology or AI-driven company preferred

Salary compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
