What to Expect

Heron Power is a startup company building cutting-edge power electronics for the 21st-century grid. We aim to debottleneck the growth of electricity generation and consumption with scalable, innovative, and less costly hardware solutions, accelerating the electrification of everything.

Our first goal is to build better converters (inverters & rectifiers) to connect large-scale renewables, storage, and loads to the grid. Heron Power’s leadership team is made up of seasoned veterans who have designed and shipped gigawatts of power conversion products over the past decade.

We understand that no one individual knows everything. We will all learn a lot together and from each other. We strive to build a collaborative, enriching environment conducive to personal, technical, and career growth. You can expect to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, driven by first principles engineering, solving difficult problems.

Job Overview

As a Staff/Senior Staff Global Supply Manager — Industrial Enclosures, you will lead strategic sourcing and supplier development for the industrial enclosures, fabricated metal components, and mechanical assemblies that make up Heron Link, our solid-state transformer platform.

You will own sourcing strategy, supplier selection, cost competitiveness, and manufacturing readiness for critical mechanical hardware. Partnering closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, NPI, Finance, and Supply Chain leadership, you will help establish a scalable and resilient supply base capable of supporting Heron's transition from prototype to high-volume production.

This role requires strong commercial judgment, deep familiarity with mechanical fabrication supply chains, and the ability to engage directly with suppliers on manufacturing capabilities, costs, capacity, and production challenges.

How You Will Contribute
  • Define and own category strategies for industrial enclosures, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical assemblies.

  • Achieve cost targets through should-cost modeling, manufacturing cost analysis, market intelligence, and supplier negotiations.

  • Lead RFx processes and negotiate commercial agreements, including piece pricing, tooling/NRE, and contractual terms.

  • Partner with engineering teams on manufacturability, material selection, fabrication processes, and supplier capabilities.

  • Drive supplier readiness across prototype, pilot, and mass production builds.

  • Manage supplier risks related to cost, quality, capacity, logistics, and geopolitical exposure.

  • Resolve supplier performance issues and develop corrective action plans with cross-functional teams.

What You Will Bring

We’re open to early to mid-career candidates with or without leadership experience. Scope and responsibilities will scale with the right candidate.

Must Have Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement supporting hardware manufacturing.

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.

  • Deep category knowledge of industrial enclosures, sheet metal fabrication, welded structures, and/or complex mechanical assemblies.

  • Experience managing mechanical fabrication suppliers, including cost analysis, tooling, manufacturing capabilities, and production ramp.

  • Strong negotiation, should-cost analysis, and contract management skills.

  • Experience partnering with engineering, manufacturing, finance, and NPI teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, often with short notice.

Nice to Haves
  • Experience sourcing industrial electrical cabinets, power electronics enclosures, switchgear housings, or similar equipment.

  • Knowledge of sheet metal forming, stamping, machining, welding, coatings, and structural fabrication.

  • Familiarity with NEMA/IP enclosure requirements, thermal management, and environmental protection.

  • Prior supplier development experience supporting power electronics, energy storage, EVs, or industrial equipment.

  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).

If you are passionate about technology and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you. Join us in accelerating the electrification of everything at Heron Power.

Heron Power provides competitive compensation (salary and equity) and benefits. The base salary range for the role is from $170,000 to $220,000.
