A key part of Airwallex’s suite of Business Account software, the Spend Management team is revolutionizing the way businesses issue credit cards and manage expenses for their employees. This team solves complex challenges around the growing demands of data and feature complexity in credit cards and expenses. We work at the intersection of our backend infrastructure and customer facing applications, and we build distributed systems that manage millions of transactions.
What you will do:
While you are a technically strong engineer who is still passionate about writing code, your leadership skills, product thinking and business acumen are what really sets you apart. You will be accountable for the overall quality and delivery of multiple engineering streamlines within the Budget and Expense Management team.
You will be the one clearing road blockers, providing context and guidance to the teams, and will know when to escalate.
This role will work with key stakeholders across the globe, and will provide technical leadership to Engineers in the US to define the tech vision of the business domain.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
10+ years working in modern engineering practices focused on continuous integration and quality engineering.
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
Strong computer science fundamentals. While we do not mind what language you have most recently been using. We are using Java or Kotlin, Spring / Spring Boot.
Expertise working on high volume distributed systems. Hands on experience with event driven architectures.
Experience with operational tooling such as New Relic, StatsD, Elk, Datadog, Prometheus
Flexibility to work across global timezones.
Preferred attributes include:
GCP experience is preferred, but AWS (EC2, RDS, ELB, CloudFront etc) with docker and Kubernetes is great too.
Experience building for payments or expense tracking.
