Music is for everyone: Our users include everyone from grandmothers creating songs for their loved ones, to Grammy winners using Suno Studio, our power tool, to make the most popular hits in the world.

Building the future of entertainment requires ambition. The pace is fast, the problems are hard, and the work demands ownership and intensity. For the right people, it’s incredibly rewarding: a chance to shape a new medium, work with a small team that cares deeply about quality, make music, drink too much coffee, and build something that millions of people use to express themselves in ways that were never before possible.

Suno is the fastest growing consumer entertainment company and the leader in AI music. We are backed by leading investors including Bond Capital, Menlo Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, IVP, Forerunner, Union Square Ventures, Alkeon, Quiet, Matrix Partners, Schroders Capital and, NVentures (venture arm of NVIDIA).

About the Role

As a Staff Software Engineer on Suno’s new Bots & Fraud team, you’ll help lead the backend engineering behind our defenses against abuse, fraud, and bots. You’ll build real-time services that turn request telemetry, behavioral signals, and device and app attestation into enforcement, such as rate limits, challenges, and account actions, across every layer from the edge to product services. The team is new and pulls together work from across the company, so you’ll shape both what we build and how we build it. You’ll report to the Bots & Fraud Engineering Manager.

What You'll Do
  • Design and build backend services for real-time abuse, fraud, and bot defense, including rate limiters, challenge flows (CAPTCHA, proof-of-work, 2FA), rules engines, and account enforcement APIs.

  • Deploy defenses from the edge to product services, with detection and enforcement that’s easy to roll back, auditable, and low-friction for real users.

  • Build the logging and metrics that show what’s getting through, what we block, and our false-positive rate.

  • Protect high-value flows, including signup, login, payments, and song generation, from account farming, credential stuffing, card testing, and credit abuse.

  • Shape the new Bots and Fraud team's architecture, roadmap, and on-call practices, and raise the engineering bar for everyone around you.

  • Protect the people Suno is built for, so the platform stays a place where anyone can make music and that becomes part of everyday life.

What You'll Need

Must-Haves
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience

  • 5+ years of backend development on distributed systems

  • 3+ years of experience in trust and safety, anti-abuse, or fraud prevention

  • 3+ years of technical leadership across a team

Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience with AWS (ECS, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, S3), Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and Valkey/Redis

  • Experience detecting and stopping automated abuse of public APIs through request telemetry, rate limiting, and challenges

  • Experience building or running payments fraud and chargeback systems, whether built in-house or on third-party risk platforms

  • A track record of using AI to change how a team builds and operates, from development workflows to on-call and investigations
