What is the opportunity?

As a Staff Software Engineer you will design and develop architecture components on the Workspace ONE Intelligence Platform. We work with the latest AWS technologies and open-source components. You will own engineering initiatives and champion a culture of high ownership, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence. You should be comfortable using modern engineering tools, including AI-assisted development tools, to improve productivity while maintaining strong judgment, code quality, and security standards.

Here is a breakdown:

  • Drive the design and development of architecture components. Participate in all phases of software development, including requirements, design, coding, testing, debugging, and performance tuning.

  • Support your peers with code reviews, design reviews, and technical insights.

  • Drive API excellence with well-thought-out opinions on API design (e.g., API versioning, REST vs GraphQL, performance, and usability).

  • Support the team's on-call responsibilities and look for opportunities to make it more efficient.

What will you bring to Omnissa?  

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong technical foundation in architecting and designing cloud services.

  •  Proficiency in Java and the Spring Framework.

  •  Experience with microservice architectures and high-performance, high-scale systems.

  •  Experience with cloud services, preferably AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Redshift, RDS, OpenSearch and more).

  • Experience with AI assisted developments tools like Cursor or Claude Code

  • Experience in AI-driven, agent-based, or MCP-enabled automation and developer workflow solutions is a plus

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, technical leadership, and a proactive approach to continuous learning and improvement.

  • Proficiency in DevOps, Agile, and CI/CD processes.

  • Familiarity with development tools such as Git, Jira, and Jenkins.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams

Location:  Mountain View, CA OR Atlanta GA

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

Compensation: The typical base salary for this role is between USD $225,000– $310,000 per year and it may be eligible for participation in a corporate bonus program. Actual compensation offer may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, or other relevant factors. In addition to competitive compensation, Omnissa offers a variety of benefits such as employee ownership, health insurance, 401k with matching contributions, disability insurance, paid-time off, growth opportunities, and more.
