We’re looking for an Engineering Program Manager to join our global Hardware PMO team. We are particularly interested in candidates located on the West Coast to support regular  collaboration with our San Francisco and San Diego team (1+ trip per month). The role will also include global travel to contract manufacturers and other Oura offices as needed.

What you will do:

  • Coordinate and lead the work of hardware engineering teams: electrical, mechanical, firmware, system test and hardware compliance.
  • Lead the engineering team to identify team level milestones and deliverables (against Program level targets) identifying the critical path and dependencies within engineering teams and between engineering and other teams such as Product, Industrial Design, Science, Software and Supply Chain.
  • Scope work and inform program-level milestones including launch targets
  • Interface with hardware engineering leadership both to provide program reporting and receive strategic guidance.
  • Collaborate effectively with other PMO colleagues and program leaders across the company.
  • Proactively address issues and obstacles that may impact program timelines. Unblock the engineering team, escalating as necessary. Identify how to accelerate when needed
  • Lead NPI build activities. Ensure product maturity and launch readiness throughout Prototype, EVT, DVT, PVT builds and validation. 
  • Drive third parties to deliver against Statements of Work, when applicable for the program
  • Contribute to BOM creation and technical specifications
  • Drive engineering risk analysis and mitigation planning
  • Plan program resourcing together with Hardware team leads
  • Oversee engineering change management
  • Be an advocate for program excellence, keeping the team focused on what is necessary to deliver on time and in scope
  • Address conflict head on, actively working to overcome all adversity 
  • Foster a collaborative and productive working environment with open communication to all stakeholders
  • Lead improvement projects and contributes to refining the existing product development processes
  • Mentor other team members

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

  • 10+ years of experience with the entire end-to-end product development process including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Firmware, System Test, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
  • Experience working on complex products with new technology and/or challenging technology integration.
  • Knowledge of standard workflows and dependencies within single engineering disciplines and between engineering disciplines (examples: reaching ID Lock, board design and release, mechanical design and tooling start)
  • Previous experience taking a complex product through NPI phases to scaled mass production including experience leading factory builds (SMT and FATP)
  • Experience working in a phase gate development model and developing entry and exit criteria and defining appropriate maturity
  • Experience structuring and executing DOEs
  • Skills using project management tools such as Jira, Confluence and SmartSheet
  • Knowledge of project management best practices (PMP not required) and ability to develop and implement new processes and workflows.
  • Knowledge of PLM systems such as Team Center or Arena
  • A desire to learn new things and accept challenges
  • Travel up to 25-30% time

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • Region 1 $198,050 - $233,000 
  • Region 2 $180,200 - $212,000
  • Region 3 $169,150 - $199,000
