Expectations for this role include, but not limited to:
- Technically innovate: Drive strategic technical and tactical decisions at a project and platform level by contributing to feasibility studies. Proactively engage technical challenges before they become problems. Key processes include vapor/plasma etching, selective wet etching, surface preparation, and high aspect processing.
- Technically Focus: Have the vision and technical skills to relate technologies and business plans of group and other groups' projects. Actively build Micron Intellectual Property and stay aware of external technical advancements, substantiated with an understanding of the state-of-the-art.
- Impact Results: Lead Micron IP into successful technical readiness and transition to program integration.
- Influence: Regularly interact with senior management to provide consultation and influence technical and strategic decisions. Craft alliances with customers.
- Skill and experience: Consistently guide product planning/roadmap, platform features, and functional area strategy centered on scientific fundamentals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields.
- 6+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry or related field.
- Proven industry experience in resolving issues and solving highly complex problems using root-cause or model-based problem solving.
- Demonstrated industry experience leading one to two projects involving significant cross-group interaction. This shows the ability to be the prime consultant on specialized projects and programs that support departmental objectives.
- Clear communication skills. Competence in operating independently, with limited oversight, focusing on delivering results through project management techniques and the communication of detailed information with team members and management.
- Advanced knowledge in one of the following: Solid state physics/device physics, Computational fluid dynamics, Molecular dynamics simulations, Materials science/engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Incorporation of AI (e.g. Claude, Copilot etc.) into daily work role to drive efficiency. Specific emphasis in coding, automation and/or data science.
