The Strategic Account Executive is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of Availity's largest and most strategic health plan customers. This is not a traditional net-new business hunting role. Instead, this role focuses on expanding existing enterprise relationships, developing executive-level partnerships, identifying new use cases, and driving growth within a select group of named accounts.
Success in this role requires strong healthcare industry expertise, enterprise sales experience, executive presence, and the ability to navigate complex healthcare organizations and multi-stakeholder sales cycles. The ideal candidate is a strategic seller and trusted advisor who can identify opportunities beyond existing relationships and help customers achieve meaningful operational, administrative, and business outcomes through Availity solutions.

- 6+ years of enterprise sales, strategic account management, or healthcare business development experience.
- Demonstrated success managing and growing large enterprise accounts.
- Experience owning complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and executive decision-makers.
- Proven ability to build and expand relationships within large healthcare organizations.
- Experience presenting to and influencing VP, SVP, and C-level executives.
- Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel approximately 25%.
- Residence near a major airport with the ability to travel to customer locations as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Deep expertise within healthcare payer organizations or the healthcare technology industry.
- Experience selling solutions to health plans and payer organizations.
- Background with healthcare technology, interoperability, administrative simplification, claims, provider engagement, or revenue cycle solutions.
- Experience working with organizations such as Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, Cigna, Highmark, HCSC, Florida Blue, CareSource, AmeriHealth Caritas, or similar payer organizations.
- Exceptional executive presence and consultative selling capabilities.
- Experience developing account strategies and driving multi-year growth plans within strategic customers.
- Experience identifying operational efficiencies, cost reduction opportunities, and enterprise transformation initiatives within healthcare organizations.
- Managing a portfolio of Availity's largest and most strategic health plan customers.
- Building relationships beyond existing contacts to gain access to additional executive stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Identifying, qualifying, and pursuing expansion opportunities across assigned accounts.
- Driving adoption of additional Availity solutions and services.
- Developing and executing strategic account growth plans aligned to customer objectives.
- Positioning Availity as a trusted partner focused on operational efficiency and business outcomes.
- Managing large, consultative, multi-stakeholder sales opportunities from discovery through close.
- Navigating complex payer organizations and decision-making structures.
- Building business cases and executive presentations that align Availity capabilities with customer priorities.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop winning account strategies.
- Managing forecasts, opportunity progression, and revenue growth targets.
- Developing a deep understanding of customer business objectives, challenges, and strategic initiatives.
- Advising customers on opportunities to improve administrative efficiency, provider engagement, and healthcare operations.
- Facilitating executive-level discussions around growth, innovation, and digital transformation.
- Helping customers uncover new use cases and maximize value from their Availity partnership.
- Maintaining strong executive relationships that support long-term account growth.
- Managing pipeline, forecasting, and account activity within Salesforce.
- Developing strategic account plans and relationship maps.
- Maintaining visibility into expansion opportunities, customer priorities, and growth initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with established sales processes and documentation standards.
- Consistently achieving or exceeding revenue and growth objectives.
