The Work You'll Do:

Sovos is hiring a Strategic Account Manager to own and grow relationships with some of the largest global enterprises headquartered in the United States. These accounts are complex, multi-stakeholder organizations with global footprints, sophisticated buying committees, and long-term transformation initiatives.

This role is designed for a true enterprise athlete — someone who thrives in high-stakes environments, embraces accountability, and has the grit to manage long sales cycles while consistently driving outcomes.

You will act as the CEO of your accounts, owning strategy, pipeline, execution, and expansion while partnering deeply with Solution Consulting, Product, Professional Services, Partners, and Executive Leadership.

More specifically, you will:

  • Own and manage a portfolio of strategic enterprise accounts, serving as the primary point of accountability for strategy, pipeline, and outcomes
  • Manage complex sales cycles involving Tax, Finance, IT, Procurement, Legal, and Executive leadership
  • Drive net-new growth, renewals, and expansions across Sovos' global compliance platform
  • Develop and execute multi-year account strategies for large, global enterprises
  • Run structured discovery, qualification, and close plans aligned to enterprise sales best practices
  • Build compelling business cases tied to regulatory risk, cost avoidance, operational efficiency, and transformation outcomes
  • Forecast accurately and manage pipeline with rigor
  • Position Sovos as a strategic partner — translating regulatory complexity into clear executive-level value
  • Guide customers through evolving global mandates (e-invoicing, continuous transaction controls, digital reporting, etc.)
  • Lead cross-functional teams across Sales Engineering, Professional Services, Product, Marketing, and Partners
  • Align global partner ecosystems where appropriate (ERP, systems integrators, compliance partners)
  • Engage Sovos executives when needed to advance strategic opportunities
  • Leverage AI-powered tools and platforms to enhance account planning, pipeline management, and customer engagement

What We Need From You

  • 8+ years of enterprise SaaS sales experience, preferably selling into large, global organizations
  • Experience with complex, multi-product, multi-stakeholder deals
  • Track record of consistently achieving or exceeding quota
  • Confident engaging with C-suite and VP-level leaders across Finance, Tax, and IT
  • Able to articulate value in business terms, not just product features
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Competitive, disciplined, and resilient — comfortable managing ambiguity, long deal cycles, and senior-level negotiations
  • Relentless about preparation, follow-through, and execution
  • Preferred: Experience in Tax Technology, ERP, Finance, Compliance, or Regulatory SaaS; familiarity with global ERP environments (SAP, Oracle, Workday, etc.); experience selling solutions with mission-critical or regulatory impact; multilingual a plus
  • Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire
