About Network Right

Network Right is on a mission to create a human-centric, innovative, next-generation world of IT. We are disrupting the IT service industry by offering custom solutions to each individual client. At Network Right, we’re bridging the gap between IT and People by offering unique support based on the needs of growing businesses, and making employee lives easier through technology.

About the Role

We’re on our way to $10M in revenue, and we’re looking for someone who thrives at this stage: building systems from the ground up, rolling up their sleeves, and scaling the finance function alongside the business. You'll be our first dedicated internal finance hire, owning Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and strategic finance at Network Right. An external partner handles our day-to-day bookkeeping. You'll own and manage that relationship, so your time goes to analysis, planning and guiding decisions, not logging transactions.

You'll work side by side with our co-founders as their go-to finance advisor, turning our data into clear, accurate insight they can act on. Your focus will be forecasting where each department is heading, shaping how we price our services, and optimize our Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) so we can double our business sustainably. This is a builder role: you'll shape our finance function, tools, and processes from the ground up.

  • Compensation: $150,000 to $180,000. Where you land depends on your experience and how closely your background matches our needs.

  • Location: San Francisco or New York City

  • Onsite: This position requires you to be onsite 4 days a week at HQ. We are unable to offer relocation at this time.

  • Sponsorship: Network Right is not currently able to provide visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

What You’ll Do

Core Responsibilities
  • Strategic FP&A: Build, maintain and iterate on rolling financial models, capacity plans and multi-year growth forecasts, at both the company and department level.

  • External Partner Management: Act as the main internal owner of our outsourced bookkeeping partner. Make sure month-end closes happen on time, the books stay clean and the data is reliable.

  • Founder Advisory: Be the finance voice our co-founders lean on. Proactively raise what they don't know and lay out the pros and cons of key decisions. Bring recommendations backed by data on risk, investment, cash flow and runway, grounded in industry standards and best-in-class practice.

  • Department Cost Analysis: Get into the weeds on costs across every department. Partner with operations and department leaders on billable utilization, labor cost allocation and where we can run more efficiently.

  • Contract Pricing: Review and provide feedback on client contract pricing. The goal is pricing that stays competitive, reflects the value we deliver and supports healthy, sustainable growth.

  • Industry Benchmarking: Do deep dives into the financials of best-in-class managed service providers and high-growth services firms. Show where we stand against the numbers they post and recommend how to close the gaps that matter. The goal is informed decisions, not imitation.

  • Unit Economics: Track, interpret and optimize CAC efficiency, LTV:CAC ratios, payback periods and other key unit economics.

  • Finance Systems & Tools: Assess our current finance stack and recommend improvements. The first priority is a tool to track software licenses and SKUs and automate invoicing. After that, keep an eye out for new tools (AI included) that would make us faster, more accurate or more cost-effective.

  • Board & Investor Reporting: Prepare clear, easy-to-scan monthly performance reports, variance analyses and strategic materials for leadership and investors.

  • Billing & Invoicing: Take ownership of our monthly client invoicing. That includes putting the tools and workflows in place to cut manual effort and error as our client base grows.

Technical Requirements
  • Advanced financial modeling in Excel and Google Sheets

  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks or a comparable accounting platform

  • Comfort working with CRM data (HubSpot preferred) to connect pipeline and revenue

  • Experience evaluating or implementing billing, invoicing or FP&A software

  • Curiosity about AI tools in finance workflows

What We Look For

The Must-Haves
  • Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, Corporate Development or Investment Banking.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • High-growth background: Experience in SaaS or high-growth professional or tech services. Having helped scale a fast-moving company matters more to us than a specific industry label.

  • Modeling mastery: You can build dynamic, clean, forward-looking models from scratch in Excel or modern FP&A tooling.

  • Business acumen over accounting instincts: You understand how operational decisions affect the P&L and margins, not just where to log a debit.

  • Executive presence: You can turn complex finance into clear recommendations for leaders who aren't finance specialists, and you challenge assumptions gently but directly.

  • Builder mindset: You're energized by building structure where none exists, and you roll up your sleeves on hands-on work like invoicing when the business needs it.

The Nice-to-Haves
  • CPA, CFA or MBA

  • A track record of selecting and implementing finance tools

  • Exposure to the financials of managed services, IT services or other technology-enabled services businesses

  • Experience owning or overseeing billing and invoicing, especially recurring or SKU-based billing

  • Working knowledge of payroll processes to support People Ops

  • Hands-on use of AI tools in finance
