Who We Are

Serval is an AI-native automation platform transforming how enterprises operate. We build intelligent agents that understand real-world workflows and execute them end-to-end — replacing manual processes and rigid legacy systems with adaptive, learning software. Founded in early 2024, Serval is already trusted by companies like Fox, Notion, Perplexity, Vercel, and Brex to automate high-volume, high-friction operational work across their organizations.
At the core of Serval is an agentic AI platform that turns natural language into production-grade workflows. Our agents don’t just respond to requests — they reason, take action across systems, and continuously improve with usage. What began with operational use cases has quickly evolved into a horizontal AI automation layer used across IT, HR, Finance, Security, Legal, and Engineering.
Our mission is to eliminate repetitive, manual work across the enterprise and give teams leverage through intelligent automation. Long term, we’re building the universal AI operations layer — a system of agents that sits across business functions and runs the workflows that keep modern companies moving.
We’re backed by leading investors including Sequoia Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Meritech, First Round, General Catalyst, Elad Gil, and others.

The Mission

Serval is in the midst of hypergrowth, and we need someone looking ahead 12 months to predict “what are the things we wished we figured out sooner?”. We’re looking for someone who is excited about leveraging their finance & biz ops experience in new ways to answer some of the most critical strategic questions facing the company:

  • What does product success actually look like?

  • Which customers are we making money on?

  • Are we pricing in a way that scales with the value we deliver? How do we prove that value, drive expansion, and price for the long term?

This role sits within the Strategic Finance function, and will partner closely with the Exec Team, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing. This is a builder role; you won't inherit a framework.

Who You Are
  • Finance or biz-ops leader that believes Finance is critical for both developing and executing on strategy vs. advising other stakeholders

  • A rigorous, systems-oriented thinker who brings clarity to ambiguity. Able to distill complex issues into the key components that matter.

  • Commercially grounded, you understand SaaS & AI unit economics and can connect product metrics to business outcomes.

  • A cross-functional operator who can influence without formal authority

  • High-ownership and high-slope; energized by early-stage infrastructure work

What You'll Do
  • Define and own our core product KPI framework from automation metrics and workflow adoption to customer value and expansion signals

  • Leverage our product KPI framework (above) to lead our pricing strategy evolution. Assess how we should move beyond licensing to better scale with the value we deliver. Partner with sales to get customer feedback.

  • Build an ROI and business case tool that gives sales a rigorous, data-backed way to quantify value for prospects

  • Enhance our margin visibility: improve customer-level cost tracking including personnel, infrastructure, and usage costs, to inform our understanding of unit economics

  • Build board materials and annual/quarterly plans

  • Determine the ROI on across marketing, sales, and deployment investments to shape our GTM strategy

What You'll Need
  • 5–8 years of total work experience, with

    • 3+ years in Biz Ops, Strategy, or Finance at a high-growth SaaS or AI company

    • 2+ years in management consulting, investment banking, PE, or VC

  • Strong analytical rigor, exceptional with Excel/Gsheet modeling

  • Track record building KPI frameworks, operating reporting infrastructure, or pricing models from scratch

  • Working knowledge of SaaS/AI unit economics: CAC, LTV, gross margin, contribution margin, COGS

  • Ability to drive cross-functional accountability across senior stakeholders

  • Based in San Francisco (or willing to relocate)

What We Offer
  • Impact: Be a key player in shaping the success of our product and company.

  • Growth: Build a fundamentally new AI product offering with the support of our experienced team and investors. Grow rapidly with the company.

  • Culture: Join a culture that values innovation, ownership, accountability, and fun.
