Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Manager Supply Chain Programs 3 to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in Sunnyvale, California. This exciting role supports the Maritime/Land Systems & Sensors division, which supports the Submarine Industrial Base and performs on Northrop Grumman’s existing programs and platforms while also exploring exciting and new opportunities to shape Northrop Grumman’s portfolio of the future. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Global Supply Chain Programs for the Marine Systems Business Unit with sites in Sunnyvale, CA and Philadelphia, PA. This position is fast-paced, with high expectations and significantly diverse assignments.  This is a full-time onsite role at our Sunnyvale, CA facility.

This role will lead the Machinery Operating Unit which currently has 3 direct reporting managers and their supply chain planning specialists.

This position is responsible and accountable for the strategy, planning, and execution of all material and services content for a Program or collection of Programs. Additional job responsibilities for this role are:

  • Acts as the main focal point for the Program Management Office (PMO) for the entire supply chain and coordinates cross-functionally to ensure that all supply chain commitments are met, and that appropriate mitigation plans are developed and executed to address any programmatic risks related to suppliers.
  • Develops the material strategy and leads the activities for GSC in all phases of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP).
  • Ensures that prior to program execution, all elements of the proposed program(s) plans have complete and accurate schedules, budgets, make/buy plans, and procurement and subcontracts strategies. 
  • Leads supply chain Program execution and is accountable for resource planning, material cost, forecasting, schedule performance, risk/opportunity management, supplier performance, and supply chain issue resolution. 
  • Briefs the PMO and executive management on the status and issues affecting Program cost and schedule performance.

  • Solid understanding of supply chain metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Strong program management skills with ability to execute initiatives with urgency, accuracy and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and collaborate well in a team environment across all levels.  Highly effective interpersonal skills and a commitment to fostering an engaging environment for others.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with the skills to influence others, interact successfully with peers, and with all levels of management in the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 8 years’ experience in Subcontracts Management, Procurement, Business Management, Program Management, or Contracts Management or a Master’s Degree with at least 6 years’ experience in any of the following: Subcontracts Management, Procurement, Business Management, Program Management, or Contracts Management
  • Experience managing Supply Chain or Program Management teams and/or a team of 5+ people in support of major defense programs
  • 5 years of people leadership experience – Manager or Team Lead experience is acceptable
  • Experience with FAR and DFARS and/or similar environments supporting programs that range from research & development to full rate production
  • Experience with SAP or related purchasing software, and Excel, PowerPoint, & MS Project
  • Experience managing supply chain metrics and financials (sales, goods receipts, milestones, etc.)
  • Ability to travel at least 25% of the time
  • US Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master Degree in Business, Global Supply Chain or Project Management
  • Experience with the SAP procurement system, performance management, NG Principles and Operating Practices, and metric analysis
  • Experience conducting presentations to and collaborating with Senior Leadership
  • Demonstrated experience assuring compliance with company command media and government regulations

Primary Level Salary Range: $175,400.00 - $263,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
