Serve as the primary support contact for recruiters via chat, Slack, and email. The role

You'll be the front line for recruiters on the platform — the person they reach when they're getting started, hit a wall, or need something resolved fast. Day to day that means recruiter onboarding, platform and process help, submission and approval issues, payout questions, and disputes. You'll work in the platform Support chat, Slack, and email, and partner closely with the teams around you: Sourcing/onboarding, Activations, and Account Managers.

This is an early, high-ownership seat. Support at Paraform is still largely manual today, so a big part of the job is not just answering questions but designing the recurring ones out of existence — better onboarding, better self-serve, better systems. The work sits close enough to the rest of the business that you'll be expected to reason about the marketplace, not just clear a queue.

What you'll do
  • Be the first, fastest, and friendliest point of contact for recruiters across chat, Slack, and email.

  • Triage and prioritize a high volume of competing requests — knowing what to answer first and why.

  • Resolve platform, submission, approval, and payout issues, escalating cleanly when you can't.

  • Help newly approved recruiters get to their first submissions and understand where they're competitive.

  • Spot patterns across incoming questions and build structural fixes — onboarding improvements, Help Center content, self-serve flows — that reduce repeat volume.

  • Partner with Sourcing, Activations, and Account Managers to keep recruiters engaged and active.

What we're looking for

The traits below map to how we evaluate throughout the process:

  • Recruiter-first mindset — you instinctively reason from the customer's incentives and experience, and you protect their trust, especially around money and fairness.

  • Sharp communication — clear, warm, professional writing with a casual-but-polished tone and no careless slips.

  • Prioritization & judgment — you triage ambiguity with a defensible rationale and name what you don't know instead of guessing.

  • Business & systems thinking — you connect a support pattern to the underlying business dynamics and think in systems and unit economics, not one-off tickets.

  • Ownership & bias to build — you want to design problems away and drive self-serve; you learn fast and are comfortable building in a role that's still manual today.

Nice to have
  • Experience in a high-volume, customer- or recruiter-facing role (support, ops, recruiting, account management).

  • Exposure to marketplaces, recruiting, or ATS tools (e.g. Ashby, Greenhouse).

  • Experience with payment processing and/or fintech.

  • A track record of improving a process, not just staffing one.

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
