As the SVP, Platform and Data Architecture, you will define the technology vision and architectural direction for critical enterprise platforms and data capabilities, ensuring Mastercard continues to scale securely, reliably, and innovatively. This executive leader will partner across engineering, product, infrastructure, security, operations, and business teams to shape modern architecture strategies, enable advanced data and AI capabilities, and drive long-term technology transformation aligned to Mastercard's business priorities.
Role• Define the Corporate Operating System architecture vision and technology direction in partnership with CTOs of engineering teams, Corporate Security, Operations, Architecture & Technology, and other key stakeholders.• Establish architectural patterns, blueprints, and reference models across platform and data domains• Chair or co-chair architecture review boards to ensure architectural integrity, governance, and alignment with strategic business objectives.• Drive modernization strategies and engineering patterns that advance legacy platforms toward microservice cloud-native, and event-driven architectures while minimizing disruption to global operations.• Architect next-generation data platforms that support advanced analytics, AI/ML, and real-time decisioning across billions of transactions and enterprise processes.• Oversee enterprise API and integration architecture strategies for internal and external developers, enabling secure, scalable, and developer-friendly connectivity across platforms and products.• Provide strategic direction for hybrid and multi-cloud environments, ensuring security, compliance, resilience, performance, and cost optimization.• Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to advance shared services, developer enablement, observability, reliability, service mesh, and development security operations practices.• Bring a strategic business perspective to anticipate marketplace trends, emerging technologies, opportunities, and risks, and translate them into architecture strategies that create business value.• Ensure adoption of modern engineering practices, including secure software development lifecycle, automation, CI/CD, DevOps, and high-quality architecture standards.• Accountable for the quality, scalability, maintainability, security, and total cost of ownership of the platform and data solutions enabled through the architecture organization.• Partner closely with product, engineering, and business leaders to define roadmaps, prioritize investments, and deliver new platform and data capabilities that address customer and enterprise needs.• Establish regular reporting, progress tracking, KPIs, and architecture health measures to provide transparency to senior leadership and support informed decision-making.• Lead, coach, and develop high-performing architects and technical leaders, building organizational capability and fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and engineering excellence.• Articulate broader business, risk, and regulatory considerations, including data governance, privacy, resiliency, and control requirements, into actionable architectural decisions.
About You
You are a strategic and hands-on technology executive with deep expertise in platform, data, and enterprise architecture within complex global environments. You are recognized for your ability to connect business strategy with architectural vision, influence senior stakeholders, and lead modernization at scale. You bring strong knowledge of distributed systems, cloud and hybrid infrastructure, data platforms, APIs, analytics, AI/ML enablement, and modern engineering practices. You are an effective communicator and collaborative leader who can work across technical and business functions, develop top technical talent, and drive clarity, accountability, and innovation in a highly matrixed organization.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Mastercard benefits for interns generally include: 56 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time; jury duty leave; and on-site fitness facilities in some locations.
