Systems Implementation Engineer

VGS provides processor-agnostic tokenization solutions via secure universal token vaults, iframes, mobile SDKs, tokenization proxies, APIs, and data orchestration tooling to support payment acceptance, card issuance, PII and bank account tokenization, and other payments value-added services. Some of the use cases we enable include multi-processor Network Tokenization, Account Updater, payment orchestration, secure settlement file processing, 3DS, and Risk provider connectivity.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer who excels at bridging customer business objectives with innovative technical solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with customers to design and implement tailored solutions that drive business value, working hands-on with cutting-edge tools and technologies. You thrive on solving complex challenges and have a passion for translating technical concepts into actionable outcomes for diverse audiences.

As a vital member of our team, you will contribute to all stages of the customer lifecycle, from initial planning and proof-of-concept development to implementation and ongoing support. Your expertise in AWS, APIs, and modern deployment tools will ensure our solutions meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.

What you will be doing at VGS...

• Assess customer requirements and design customized VGS solutions to meet their business objectives.
• Guide prospective customers through proof-of-concept implementations, integrating VGS and third-party systems.
• Collaborate effectively with Product Managers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Partner with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Oversee and maintain VGS-managed solutions to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Write and maintain comprehensive internal and external documentation.
• Continuously update and refine resources to support both internal teams and external stakeholders effectively.

What we are looking for from you (Requirements)

• At least 3 years of customer-facing experience as a software engineer or solutions architect, ideally within data, security, or SaaS product companies.
• Proficient in web services, APIs, and full-stack development, with a solid understanding of how diverse technologies and systems interact.
• Skilled at writing production-ready code in VGS's primary deployment languages: Python, JavaScript, Java, or Go.
• Exceptional communicator, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong collaboration, interpersonal, negotiation, and prioritization skills to effectively manage competing demands.
• Deep expertise in AWS products such as S3, EKS, and MWAA.
• Experienced in leveraging tools and systems like Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Airflow, and Terraform.
