What You Can Expect

As the Talent & Learning Manager, you will own the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Zoom's performance management philosophy, strategy, and systems — bringing cohesion to the talent cycle under one accountable owner across tools, processes, and learning experiences. From the quarterly check-in process and goal-setting frameworks to talent reviews, succession planning, and the performance technology roadmap, you will build connected systems that span the full arc of performance and development and make them stick through targeted enablement content, manager toolkits, and in-the-flow-of-work learning. This role sits at the intersection of talent management and learning and development, requiring equal strength in program architecture and content design, with data and AI at the center of how you measure, iterate, and scale. For a builder who sees performance and development as two sides of the same coin and wants meaningful ownership of a high-visibility people function, this role offers the scope and organizational impact to do exactly that.

About the Team

Talent and Learning sits within Zoom's People Experience organization, connecting skills, learning, and growth into one integrated system. Our work spans skills architecture, onboarding, all Zoomie and leader development, culture enablement, and the full performance and talent cycle. One north star ties it together: ensuring every Zoomie has a clear path to build the skills their career and Zoom's business demand. We are a small team of builders who favor speed over perfection, test ideas in the real world, and believe the best tools are the ones managers actually use.

Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve Zoom's performance management strategy and philosophy, building a clear, consistent approach that drives accountability, employee growth, and alignment with business outcomes.
  • Build and implement scalable processes for managing performance across the organization, anchored by Zoom's quarterly check-in process and encompassing goal setting, performance evaluation and differentiation, continuous feedback and coaching conversations as well as recognition and rewards integration.
  • Design and deploy a scalable talent planning and succession management process, including talent reviews, high-potential identification, leadership pipeline development, and supporting technology to enable data-driven talent decisions across the organization.
  • Define the performance technology roadmap, evaluating, implementing, and optimizing the systems and tools that underpin the full talent cycle.
  • Develop and deliver toolkits, guides, and learning experiences for every process you own — built for in-the-flow-of-work consumption, tied to Zoom's skills taxonomy, and grounded in usage data — equipping managers with practical tools for feedback, goal-setting, coaching, and development planning.
  • Establish baselines and success metrics across the talent cycle, connecting performance, learning, and talent signals into one integrated model that surfaces data-driven recommendations to leaders and fuels continuous iteration.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in talent management, performance management, organizational development, or a closely related HR discipline, with a proven track record of building scalable, high-impact performance systems that drive individual and organizational success.
  • Hands-on learning and development experience designing and delivering enablement content, manager training, or leadership programs, with demonstrated ability to build content directly rather than solely manage vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to build performance or talent-cycle programs from scratch or as iterations including process design, technology solution design, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment.
  • Practical experience using AI tools in daily work and enabling teams and managers to leverage AI to enhance effectiveness, surface insights, and scale personalized experiences.
  • Product-owner mindset with the ability to identify customers, define success metrics, iterate based on user feedback, and treat every initiative as a product that must earn adoption.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with senior leaders, HR partners, and business stakeholders, combined with excellent communication and facilitation skills that translate equally well to executive presentations and first-time manager coaching.
  • Robust experience using data and analytics to measure program impact, inform decisions, and continuously improve performance management practices, paired with a solution-oriented, agile approach to working in fast-moving environments.
