The Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Provision Manager to drive the  preparation and review of Netflix’s global tax provision. The ideal candidate has deep technical ASC 740 tax accounting expertise and is a self-starter with strong organizational, project management, and process improvement skills.

This is an individual contributor role, and will not manage a team. 

This position can be based in one of two offices: Los Gatos, CA (preferred) or Los Angeles, CA. The in-office expectation is 3 days a week (Tues-Thurs). 

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual global provision calculations and disclosures under ASC 740.

  • Prepare and review internal cash tax and effective tax rate forecasts and consolidation deliverables for management review.

  • Own the OneSource Tax Provision system end-to-end, including dataset administration, quarterly close configuration, rate and entity maintenance, user access, and coordination with Tax Technology on upgrades and enhancements.

  • Analyze and effectively communicate global income tax financial statement results, including impacts of legislative changes, uncertain tax positions, return-to-provision adjustments, and significant transactions.

  • Maintain and enhance documentation, internal workpapers, and support for external audit and SOX 404 compliance.

  • Identify opportunities to implement system improvements and  develop automation and AI tools to enhance the efficiency of the provision process 

  • Collaborate across Accounting, Finance, Internal Audit, and cross-functional Tax teams to ensure accurate reporting and support business objectives.

  • Train team members on systems and ASC 740 technical foundations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA and a Master’s in Tax or Accounting are preferred.

  • 6+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, including public accounting and/or corporate tax department roles.

  • Deep technical knowledge of ASC 740, including applying tax accounting rules to domestic, foreign, and cross-border tax regimes.

  • Significant administrator-level expertise using OneSource Tax Provision software is required (e.g., Platform Admin management, configuration and rollforward, GAM management, account mappings, user permissions, data imports/exports, OneSource Workpapers build and maintenance, etc).

  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate and manage an array of competing priorities.


Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $200,000.00 - $340,000.00.
