Datadog’s Technical Content team consists of tech-oriented writers and editors who create accurate and compelling content for a highly technical audience of software developers, ops engineers, and other end users. Our team's mission is to produce well researched and polished technical content that enhances customer trust in Datadog—both as a product and an organization—and that cements our position as the authoritative voice in the monitoring and security spaces. Datadog's main blog (a.k.a., "The Monitor") covers Datadog in depth and provides valuable information to the broader tech community around observability, best practices, and industry trends.

While our Docs team handles the essential "how-to" of our products, we’re looking for a writer who wants to explore the "why" behind modern tech trends.

This is a great fit if you love the intersection of engineering and storytelling. You’ll get hands-on with the technology (code included) and create editorial content specifically for software developers, ops engineers, and other practitioners.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture—the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide clear, appropriate editorial feedback on blog articles, video scripts, and other requested assets to enforce our style and brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with SMEs across Product, Marketing, Advocacy, Engineering, and Technical Content to maximize the clarity, technical correctness, and effectiveness of our articles, scripts, and other content.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects from start to finish with guidance from team lead.
  • Collaborate with the greater Technical Content team to develop and improve team standards and processes.
  • Edit articles for the Datadog blog and other assets as requested by teams including Community, Product, Engineering, and others.

Who You Are:

  • You are a technical editor with 3–5 years experience providing editorial feedback and transforming complex topics into clear prose.
  • You have the ability to craft polished, technically precise prose and elevate the work of your colleagues to a similar level. This includes improving the quality of the writing itself, as well as identifying technical passages that need clarification, revision, or deeper exploration.
  • You are current on the latest trends in the cloud monitoring and security spaces.
  • You have successfully used AI tools to improve existing workflows.
  • You are familiar with modern software development and delivery methods, container platforms, cloud services, or other relevant technical ecosystems.

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits and Growth:

  • The opportunity to grow our team and continue to foster a positive culture within a fast-growing company
  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
  • Intradepartmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
  • An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds (Datadog employee resource groups)
  • Access to Inclusion Talks, our Internal panel discussions
  • Free, global mental health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+

Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.
