Your Role 

As a Gensler Technical Designer, focusing on commercial interior environments, you will design and produce technical documentation, as well as communicate project progress to team members and clients to ensure success. You’re a fit for this role if you have experience in documentation and execution of the project, are proficient in Revit, and enjoy working with a team of architects and interior designers that bring design dreams to life. This is a good role for someone who is technically proficient, comfortable in client-facing settings, and enjoys working with a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem solving and design excellence.  
 
What You Will Do 

  • Provide project team coordination for finished plans, specification, and material selections; ensure design intent is incorporated into the construction documentation  

  • Produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction of project  

  • Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction  

  • Work directly with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, regulatory agencies, and clients to help meet overall project objectives  

  • Utilize hand sketches and 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts  

  • Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project   

  • Actively participate and contribute to the financial performance of project  

  • Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships  

 

Your Qualifications 

  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Architecture or Interior Design, preferably with experience designing corporate interiors projects 

  • 3-5 years of professional experience with focus on Architecture or Interior Design  

  • Licensed Architect OR NCIDQ preferred 

  • LEED accreditation encouraged  

  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques  

  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development  

  • Experience in construction document preparation and field observation  

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)  

  • Highly Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and other 3D modeling software  

 

**The base salary range will be estimated between $75,000 - $90,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
