What you'll do
The Technical Operations & Strategy Intern will contribute to high-priority strategic initiatives across the company. While the exact projects will depend on Cloudflare's internal priorities at the time of the internship, potential areas of focus include:
- Infrastructure Expansion: Conducting market and provider assessments, developing strategic options, and contributing to the creation of a 3-year infrastructure strategy.
- Business Cases: Analyzing global spend basis for colocation and network and recommending actions to senior management.
- Automation: Enhancing our tooling, forecasting and tracking with AI and other forms of intelligent automation.
- Market Intelligence: Deep diving into emerging competitive threats and market shifts within key Cloudflare supplier areas (e.g., AI/ML, data center, cloud) to produce actionable recommendations.
- Business Development: Finding and speaking to new infrastructure companies and creating new business relationships.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Liberal Arts, Computer Science).
- Ability to commit to a full-time 12 week internship.
- In office 3-4 days a week in-office in San Francisco.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with a proven ability to structure complex problems, conduct rigorous analysis, and synthesize findings into clear, concise, and compelling narratives.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging with senior leaders and facilitating cross-functional discussions.
- A passion for Cloudflare's mission to help build a better Internet and a genuine interest in the underlying technologies (networking, security, edge computing, AI).
- Self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative high-growth environment.
- Familiarity with infrastructure concepts (cross-connects, circuits, colocation vendors/sites) or interest in learning quickly.
- Ability to write or prompt (OpenCode etc) scripting and code
- API familiarity and ability to create persistent, reliable data pipelines
- A self-starter with a high degree of intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving; detail-oriented and organized.
Compensation:
- Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.
- Estimated hourly pay of $24/hour.
