We are seeking a Product Owner to lead the development and ongoing management of a customer marketing segmentation product within Retail Bank Marketing Technology. While working with a leading banking client you will drive product strategy, manage the product backlog, and partner with software engineering teams to deliver solutions that enhance customer targeting and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage the product backlog and status sheet, ensuring visibility of current epics, upcoming work, and long-term product roadmap.
Translate business objectives into clear requirements through Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), aligning them with marketing and technology goals.
Partner with software engineering teams to break down epics into Jira stories, ensuring requirements are actionable and delivery-focused.
Actively manage backlog refinement—adding, prioritizing, and grooming items both proactively (strategic needs) and reactively (ad hoc requests, production issues).
Oversee agile ceremonies with the engineering team, ensuring Jira epics and stories remain aligned with requirements and delivery milestones.
Monitor and support product delivery, including tracking completion in Jira and addressing production issues as needed.
Provide ad hoc support for leadership reporting, including preparing status updates, slide content, and discussions related to product strategy and progress.
Qualifications
Five or more years experience as a Product Owner in marketing technology, financial services, or banking.
Strong background in marketing technology platforms.
Hands-on experience with Agile delivery practices, backlog management, and Jira.
Ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working cross-functionally with engineering, business stakeholders, and leadership teams.
This is a hybrid role with 3 days onsite in NYC or Wilmington, DE.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $190,000 annually
This range reflects the base salary that we reasonably expect to pay a Senior Technical Product Owner. Actual compensation may vary depending on relevant factors including experience, skills, location, and client billing.
