Role Mission

Stabilize and optimize SAP TMS, SAP EWM, and SAP ECC/S4; lead the in-transit visibility and exception-management pilot; and deliver a portfolio of internal applications that replace fragmented, manual processes. This is a senior, hands-on technical program leadership role: the successful candidate owns end-to-end architecture, directs data and BI resources, approves design documents, and drives the client's logistics platforms from early-stage into reliable, measurable operating capability — while accelerating the next wave of digital enablement.

Primary Responsibilities

1. TMS and EWM Stabilization, Optimization, and Integration

  • Assess post-launch state, open issues, workarounds, process gaps, and adoption barriers across SAP TMS and SAP EWM.
  • Create and maintain a prioritized backlog for defects, enhancements, integrations, training, and process maturity.
  • Coordinate interfaces and cross-system dependencies involving IBP, GTS, and other enterprise applications and data sources.
  • Establish structured intake, triage, root-cause analysis, escalation, and closure practices for platform issues and enhancement requests.
  • Support release planning, test strategy, UAT coordination, defect resolution, readiness reviews, and post-deployment stabilization, including the ECC-to-S/4HANA transition.
  • Develop process maps, SOPs, role-based training, and knowledge materials that improve consistent global adoption.
  • Define platform health, adoption, and value metrics; provide concise status, risk, dependency, and decision reporting to leadership.

2. In-Transit Visibility Pilot and Capability Roadmap

  • Lead business readiness and cross-functional execution for the in-transit dashboard and exception-management pilot, coordinating the platform provider, Command Center labor, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Define operating processes, data needs, success measures, escalation paths, and go/no-go criteria for new requirements.
  • Work with the platform provider to configure and optimize exceptions, agents, alerts, dashboards, and on-demand reporting.
  • Validate that alerts and exceptions are actionable, appropriately prioritized, and connected to clear response ownership.
  • Coordinate testing, issue triage, user feedback, and training; document playbooks and manual backup processes for continuity.
  • Develop near-term and long-term roadmaps, including criteria and dependencies for moving selected dashboard and agent capabilities in-house once data is complete, validated, and reliable.

3. Internal Applications and Digital Logistics Enablement

Lead discovery, prioritization, and delivery for internal tools that replace fragmented or manual processes. For each application, define the problem statement, users, requirements, data model, workflow, controls, integration needs, minimum viable product, test plan, launch plan, support model, and measurable success criteria. Initial portfolio:

  • Services Enablement Request Form and Database. A common intake experience for new lanes, locations, services, and related requests, with cross-functional workflows, checklists, approvals, status visibility, and auditable ownership.
  • Scorecard and QBR Automation. Standardize inputs and automate recurring reporting to improve the timeliness and consistency of scorecards and quarterly business review materials.
  • Electronic Routing Guide. Convert existing rules to a new electronic routing guide that provides carriers and account numbers to move purchase orders, replacing the current external solution, with controlled content, password protection, purchase-order validation, ownership, searchability, and documented change management.

4. Program Governance and Operating-Model Maturity

  • Author and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) with testable acceptance criteria.
  • Own the enterprise architecture and solution blueprints for in-scope platforms, including current-state and target-state views, integration patterns, canonical data models, and interface contracts.
  • Maintain a technology roadmap and an innovation roadmap that identify automation, AI, and BI opportunities, favoring simplification and standardization before adding new system functionality.
  • Maintain integrated plans, RAID and decision logs, release records, SOPs, and knowledge-transfer materials as living artifacts in a client-owned repository.
  • Establish product and process ownership, support tiers, service expectations, and change-control practices for in-scope platforms and applications.
  • Manage third-party platform providers against deliverables, quality, timelines, and contractual responsibilities.
  • Transfer knowledge and sustainable ownership to designated client employees; avoid creating long-term dependency on contractor-held knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of technical program management, systems implementation, product operations, or business-technology transformation experience, including demonstrated ownership of end-to-end architecture and governance for enterprise platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP TMS, EWM, SAP ECC/S4, and in-transit / exception-management platforms.
  • Experience directing data and BI engineers, reviewing architecture decisions, and approving design documents for critical integration components.
  • Experience managing enterprise application integrations, APIs, data flows, master-data dependencies, and cross-system troubleshooting.
  • Experience leading SaaS pilots, platform implementations and enhancements, post-launch stabilization, and vendor / metric performance management.
  • Strong ability to convert operational problems into structured requirements, process designs, roadmaps, and acceptance criteria, and to drive cross-functional and external-partner adoption.
  • Hands-on experience with UAT, release readiness, change management, training, and adoption.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, documentation, and executive-reporting skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in an environment where processes and ownership models are still maturing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting global logistics, fulfillment, manufacturing, or new-product-introduction operations.
  • Knowledge of SAP TMS (including GTT-based solutions), EWM, IBP, GTS, and control-tower or shipment-visibility / exception platforms using AI agents to optimize workloads.
  • Experience building internal workflow, intake, reporting, or knowledge-management applications.
  • Familiarity with data platforms, dashboards, automation, AI-enabled agents, or decision-support tools.
  • Experience establishing product governance, support models, operational KPIs, and continuous-improvement practices.
