Technical Program Manager - 12 month contract

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead complex technical initiatives that span multiple functionality within the quality engineering division. PlayStation's Software Quality Engineering teams align across PlayStation ensuring that the PlayStation brand retains its association with quality, detail, and exceptional experiences. Tasked with ensuring an extremely high level of quality in everything we ship, the QE teams work alongside developers, designs, and product owners to ensure test coverage of all feature areas and develop new and innovative test strategies and technologies for automation and manual testing. 

The Technical Program Manager leads complex technical initiatives that span multiple functionality within the quality engineering division. To excel in this role, you must be able to navigate ambiguous technical challenges, work well within set deadlines, and drive through influence. In this role, you will lead a diverse team through the processes of establishing online services linking to multiple platforms and apps.  Ideal candidates have knowledge of cloud services, work independently and seek to define order from complex multi-project needs. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Own delivery of large scale technical programs with significant impact.

  • Define deliverables and milestones for cross team dependencies to achieve maximum efficiency.

  • Develop a comprehensive roadmap for future releases and projects ensuring teams are able to allocate resources to achieve the roadmap with minimal risks.

  • Identify and mitigate risks across multiple programs providing clear and proactive communication to Program Management leadership.

  • Drive alignment across stakeholders providing clear communication and alignment to define key internal milestones, lead technical trade-offs, execute retrospective processes, and optimize program management processes

  • Backup program team for additional programs including internal tooling.

  • Develop and maintain deep understanding of systems including HW and SW architecture as well as Application or HW integrations.

  • Keep aligned with current technical trends and emerging technologies.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of technical program management experience in software development; Network and HW experience a plus.

  • Proven track record of delivering on schedule across complex, multi-team technical programs.

  • Technical experience with reviewing software architecture and design.

  • Technical experience in online services. Experience integrating with personal devices, apps on PC, or consoles, a plus.

  • Deep understanding of quality engineering including shift left/shift right methodologies.

  • Experience with program management and issue tracking tools such as Asana and JIRA.

  • Experience with KPI development and management.

  • Proven ability to quickly learn new software.

Please note that the individual base pay range may vary based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below, this is an hourly rate.
$70$90 USD
