About Numeral:

Numeral is transforming how taxes get done. Digital businesses are currently bogged down by a painful web of regulations across 47 states and 70+ countries. We’re eliminating this burden so teams can focus on their core mission.

We’re the largest and fastest-growing AI-native tax solution. Started in 2023, Numeral has raised over $57M from Benchmark, Mayfield, Y-Combinator, and many others. We now serve over 3,000 paying customers and have more than tripled our revenue every year in our history.

About the role:

We're looking for a Technical Recruiting Lead to own full-cycle recruiting for our Engineering, Product, and Design teams. You'll be the first dedicated technical recruiter at Numeral, which means you'll have real influence over how we build our technical org, from the processes we use to the bar we set for talent.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who moves fast, builds trust with hiring managers and candidates alike, and genuinely cares about candidate experience.

What you'll do:
  • Own the full recruiting cycle for technical roles: sourcing, screening, coordinating, and closing candidates across Engineering, Product, and Design

  • Partner closely with hiring managers to define role requirements, calibrate on the bar, and move quickly

  • Build and manage pipelines for roles ranging from senior ICs to leadership

  • Develop sourcing strategies that go beyond inbound including proactive outreach, community engagement, referrals

  • Establish recruiting processes, tooling, and best practices that scale as we grow

  • Create a candidate experience that reflects Numeral's culture and leaves a lasting impression

  • Track and report on recruiting metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement

  • Help define what great technical recruiting looks like at Numeral. You're setting the standard

What you'll bring:
  • 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, ideally at a high-growth startup

  • Track record of closing strong technical candidates in competitive markets

  • Experience recruiting across engineering disciplines (backend, full-stack, infra) and ideally product and design

  • Strong sourcing skills: you know how to find and engage candidates who aren't looking

  • Ability to build credibility with technical hiring managers and act as a true thought partner

  • Organized, data-driven, and comfortable managing multiple reqs simultaneously

  • Startup mindset: you're comfortable with ambiguity, scrappy when needed, and biased toward action

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with candidates and internal stakeholders alike

Even better:
  • Experience as one of the first recruiters at a company

  • Familiarity with AI or fintech hiring markets

  • Experience building a hiring process, or recruiting function from scratch

What we offer:
  • Competitive salary and equity - you'll share directly in the company's success

  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • Wellness perks like Headspace and the Peloton One App

  • 401(k) to help you build long-term financial security

  • Lunch and snacks when you're in the office

  • Regular team offsites and company events as we grow

  • A culture built on ownership - your work matters and people will see it!
