Position Summary

The Technical Sales Specialist is m responsible for driving growth within an assigned market. As part of the overlay sales team, this role partners with Account Managers to identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities through technical expertise and consultative selling.

Serving as the technical expert for the assigned portfolio, this position supports the sales process through application development, product demonstrations, troubleshooting, customer and sales training, and technical presentations. The Technical Sales Soecialist also identifies market trends, supports new product launches, manages technical relationships with key OEMs/AEMs, and drives the successful conversion of competitive business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Managers to develop and grow strategic customer opportunities.

  • Serve as the technical expert for assigned markets, applications, territories, or technologies.

  • Identify, qualify, and support new business opportunities through consultative technical selling.

  • Conduct product demonstrations, application evaluations, technical presentations, and customer training.

  • Troubleshoot customer applications and provide technical solutions that support business growth.

  • Build and maintain technical relationships with key OEMs, AEMs, and strategic customers.

  • Support new product launches and recommend portfolio enhancements based on customer and market insights.

  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and R&D to develop customer-focused solutions.

  • Manage multiple projects and opportunities while applying sound technical judgment and working independently.

  • Continuously develop technical expertise and seek support when appropriate to ensure customer success.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 7 years of relevant technical sales or industry experience; or

  • Associate's degree in a related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience; or

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline and at least 3 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.

  • Experience in technical sales, application development, or customer-facing roles within adhesives.

  • Demonstrated success influencing specifications, supporting business conversions, and managing OEM/AEM relationships.

  • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $75,000 - $95,000 + Incentive Plan.
