Responsible for managing the candidate experience, developing relationships with hiring managers, optimizing recruitment strategies, and maintaining ATS data for a tech startup.
About the Company
At AstroForge, our mission is to make space resources accessible on Earth. We mine asteroids to extract valuable minerals in space at a lower cost and smaller carbon footprint than current terrestrial mining methods. Along the way, we seek to leverage the technologies we build to provide additional value across other domains. We offer a unique opportunity to join an exciting team looking to expand humanity’s capabilities in space.
Job Description:
You’re the engine running our hiring front lines. This role is a balanced mix of sourcing and internal operation in a hard-tech startup. On any given day, you might be fixing an awkward interview flow, internet-sleuthing for rare talent, or making sure our ATS data is clean and organized. If you love being the glue that holds a hiring process together, and you get a genuinely weird joy out of tracking down that one-in-a-million candidate, you'll fit right in.
Responsibilities:
- Own the top-of-funnel candidate journey from first touch through initial interviews, and make sure every interaction feels smooth, personal, and fast.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand what we need and help craft job descriptions that reflect who we are and where we’re headed.
- Help us find great people wherever they are: online, in communities, through referrals, and beyond.
- Coordinate interviews and keep communication flowing between candidates and hiring teams, making sure feedback is shared and decisions move quickly.
- Build strong relationships with candidates and keep them engaged throughout the process, helping grow our talent pipeline and strengthen our employer brand.
- Assist the leadership team and hiring managers in developing innovative recruitment strategies, provide guidance on best practices, and track key metrics to optimize hiring
General Requirements
- 1-3+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition/Recruiting or People/HR Operations
- Proven track record in technical sourcing with the resourcefulness to find niche talent using a mix of traditional tools and creative methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with candidates and hiring teams.
- Proficiency in utilizing G Suite or similar software to produce analytics, process documentation, and workflow materials.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) optimization.
- Proven ability to adopt new technology, work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations relevant to recruitment and selection.
- Ability to work onsite in Seal Beach, CA.
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- Knowledge of basic scientific and technical concepts in Aerospace, enabling effective assessment of candidate qualifications.
- ATS and HRIS implementation.
- Experience with Gem or Rippling.
Benefits
- 100% paid medical, dental, and life insurance coverage
- Vision and FSA benefits available
- 3 weeks of PTO + 1 week of sick time
- 10 paid holidays
- Retirement savings plan – 401(k), with company match
Compensation
- Level 1 $70,000 - $79,500
- Level 2 $78,000 - $85,575
- Equity on the ground floor of a startup
