Who are we looking for? 

We are seeking a visionary Sector Leader with a track record of building client relationships within the technology and communications industries. The ideal candidate will have experience growing business lines, leading multidisciplinary teams, and forging partnerships with leading technology providers, network operators, and public agencies. The Sector Leader will champion our growth strategy for this client industry, working closely with GHD’s digital and infrastructure experts to deliver innovative solutions and drive GHD’s leadership in this fast-evolving sector.

The Technology & Communications Sector is an exciting frontier for GHD across the globe. We intend to grow our brand and relationships with technology and communications companies, including:

• Hyperscalers and Cloud Platform Providers
• Colocation and Data Centre Operators 
• Digital Infrastructure Developers and Investors
• Telecommunications and Network Owners
• Technology and Platform Companies
• Public Sector Digital Infrastructure Owners and Regulators

With digital infrastructure, connectivity, and data-driven services evolving rapidly, our clients are driving innovation and shaping the future. This sector is a critical engine of growth for GHD, encompassing clients whose investments are reshaping markets. Unlike traditional infrastructure projects, our clients require agile, technology-driven capital programs and complex, multi-jurisdictional solutions that demand bold leadership and creative problem-solving.

• Represent GHD externally through industry forums, thought leadership, and active participation in priority industry associations to strengthen market visibility.

• Build and deepen strategic partner relationships with larger consulting firms and ecosystem players to expand reach, capability, and capture.

• Grow and strengthen key client relationships across technology, communications, and digital infrastructure owners and developers.

• Mobilize multidisciplinary teams across Digital, Infrastructure, Water, Environment, and Energy to deliver integrated solutions.

GHD’s approach will leverage its multidisciplinary strengths, extending beyond traditional engineering to include digital advisory, program management, permitting, and lifecycle asset support. 

Sector Leaders at GHD are empowered to own the sector growth strategy, adapt to the fast pace and scale of client investments, lead and grow our client account managers, and build integrated, relationship-led engagement across multiple service lines. • Bachelor’s Degree Engineering, Science, or other relevant discipline.
• Project Management and Business Development (highly regarded).
• Minimum 15 years industry experience (consulting environment preferable).
• Client Account Management Experience within designated Sector. 
• Highly developed and open communication and influencing skills, both oral and written.
• Good people relationships and networking skills.
• Highly approachable to staff queries and highly visible in the sector and with specific clients
• Understanding and adherence to GHD’s values, Codes of Conduct and Policies including risk and reputation management and compliance with GHD’s health and safety management system

The salary range for this position is $175,519 to $272,531.  The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for GHD locations in its major city centers. Ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At GHD, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation.
