The Client and Partner Technologies team is charted with enabling brilliant Netflix experiences on partner devices and building foundational client systems and tools.  As a Product Manager for TV Platform and Device Partner Technologies, you work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to support our technical strategies to support both internal Netflix initiatives and the foundational needs of the Netflix TV app platform. 
 

Using both qualitative insights and quantitative metrics to guide decisions and measure success, you will be responsible for driving, developing and executing software product roadmaps. This is a dynamic role interfacing with our ecosystem of device and operating system partners, internal, platform and partner engineering teams to deliver our members the best Netflix experience, while driving efficiency and quality. 
 

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Technologies that are integral to the Netflix-supported device platforms: Background in graphics on media streaming devices. SmartTV and Streaming Device capabilities  including GPU performance,  AI/ML use cases, and input modalities (Remote/Voice/Touch/ Gesture). Additional experience in OS Platform support strategy and Accessibility features is a nice to have
  • Go-to-market. Formulate strategies that ensure successful product feature and capability adoption. The strategies will include, but are not limited to:
  • External Product Communication. Create and execute consistent, concise and convincing product messaging and communication plans. 
  • Infield performance. Understand and ensure instrumentation for measuring, studying and monitoring the key metrics for the product while out in the field. Proactively communicate KPIs and ongoing performance to internal stakeholders, and provide necessary business support for QBR presentations.
  • Reach and Growth. Working with cross-functional teams, strategize on maximizing the reach of the latest product innovations globally and execute on those strategies.  Understand the value framework and expected impact of various features, clearly articulating to the engineering and business leaders why, and when, various features or enhancements should be delivered. 
  • Project Management. Oversee the progress of the software features from inception to completion, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met. Identify potential issues and bottlenecks in project workflows and proactively suggest and implement solutions.
     

What Sets You Apart?

  • Track record of delivering successful features/products/services in technically complex SmartTV and Streaming Devices
  • Demonstrate ability to do technical product transformations, finding new opportunities and building them to scale
  • Knowledge of media abstraction API’s (gStreamer, OpenMax, Codec 2.0).
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity. This role is fast-paced, fluid, and will frequently evolve based on partner, strategy, and product priorities
  • You welcome candid feedback and can constructively give it as well
  • Self-starter who enjoys quickly bringing organization and direction
  • Experience with risk analysis and modeling
  • Exemplify the Netflix culture by understanding, advocating, and demonstrating its values

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years product management experience working on smart TV’s and streaming devices with graphics technologies. 
  • 10+ years product management experience delivering product through the creation of product strategy, managing product evolution lifecycle
  • Experience improving media-rendering performance on devices
  • Ability to think strategically and lean on data to inform decision-making
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate business impact and technical constraints tailored to the audience
  • Can balance consumer, partner, and business interests while considering technical integration tradeoffs
  • Proven experience creating partnerships with cross-functional teams and organizations, driving large-scale technical execution plans with measurable milestones, debating technical approaches, and building long-term scalable solutions

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $440,000.00 - $725,000.00.
