Mission 

As a core member of the Sales team, you will play a critical role in driving revenue growth, market expansion, and customer engagement across Alberta. You will lead commercial activities within the territory by building strong relationships with retail partners, ag entrepreneurs, agronomists, growers, and key agricultural influencers while supporting the successful adoption of Vive Crop Protection’s Precision Chemistry™ technologies and crop protection solutions.

This role is focused on expanding Vive’s market presence, increasing product adoption, developing strategic customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities across Alberta. You will combine strong sales leadership, agronomic understanding, and market knowledge to drive sustainable long-term growth for the business. 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities 

    1. Sales Growth & Territory Management

    • Drive sales growth and market expansion across Alberta through strategic territory management and customer engagement activities. Build and maintain strong relationships with ag retailers, ag entrepreneurs, key growers, agronomists, crop advisors, and influential agricultural partners across Alberta. Identify and develop new retail opportunities, ag entrepreneur partnerships, strategic accounts, and market expansion initiatives across the territory. Manage territory priorities, sales forecasting, pipeline development, and opportunity tracking to support business objectives. 
    • Partner closely with retail organizations, ag entrepreneurs, and key customers to execute sales programs, promotional activities, and product positioning strategies. 
    • Actively support demand generation activities including customer meetings, field events, product demonstrations, agronomy tours, and grower education programs. 
    • Develop strategic partnerships with key retail organizations, ag entrepreneurs, and influential customers to strengthen Vive’s market presence and product adoption. 
    • Develop and execute territory business plans that support revenue targets, product adoption, and long-term customer growth. 

    2. Market Expansion & Customer Development

    • Identify new market opportunities, customer segments, and growth strategies that increase Vive’s market presence across Alberta. Represent the voice of the customer by sharing market feedback, competitive intelligence, and customer insights with internal teams. Develop strategic relationships with key retail accounts, ag entrepreneurs, and regional influencers to support long-term business growth. Develop strong knowledge of Western Canadian cropping systems including cereals, canola, pulse crops, and specialty crops to effectively position Vive solutions. 
    • Represent Vive at trade shows, agronomy meetings, grower events, customer presentations, and industry conferences. 
    • Build strong relationships with key agricultural influencers, universities, consultants, agronomists, retail leaders, ag entrepreneurs, and progressive growers to support market awareness and product credibility. 
    • Support the successful introduction and commercialization of new products and technologies within the marketplace. 

    3. Sales Collaboration & Technical Positioning

    • Partner closely with Agronomy, Marketing, Biology, Product Development, and Sales leadership teams to support commercial execution and market growth strategies. Utilize market trends, customer feedback, and competitive insights to support portfolio growth and territory sales strategies. Utilize digital agronomy and precision agriculture tools to support customer engagement, agronomic positioning, and business development activities. 
    • Act as a trusted advisor to retail partners, ag entrepreneurs, and key customers by delivering strong agronomic and commercial recommendations that support customer success and product adoption. 
    • Support internal teams with customer insights and territory feedback that contribute to product development and long-term business planning. 
    • Collaborate with retail partners, ag entrepreneurs, and internal technical teams to support product positioning, customer recommendations, and field success. 


    Skills & Experiences 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Business, Marketing, Plant Production, or a related discipline. Strong understanding of Western Canadian cropping systems including cereals, canola, pulse crops, and specialty crops. Experience working with ag retailers, ag entrepreneurs, consultants, growers, and agricultural influencers across Western Canada. Experience introducing new products and technologies into the marketplace and supporting commercial adoption. Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently within a remote territory-based role. 
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced growth environment. 
    • Understanding of biological products, precision agriculture, and digital agronomy technologies is considered an asset. 
    • Strong understanding of crop protection products, agronomic positioning, and agricultural sales processes. 
    • Proven ability to drive sales growth, manage customer relationships, and develop strategic business opportunities. 
    • 7+ years of sales, territory management, agronomy sales, ag retail, or business development experience within Canadian agriculture. 

    Requirements

      • Valid passport with the ability to travel across the assigned territory and periodically throughout Western Canada, Eastern Canada, and parts of the US (travel up to 50%, depending on home location). Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams. 
      • Willingness to travel extensively during key seasonal periods, customer events, and sales activities. 
      • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
