BizFirst is assisting our client with recruiting a Test Expert to design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain Tricentis automated tests and integrate them into DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines supporting mission-critical Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) application development and pilots.

Our client is a technology integrator that supports government customers with IT modernization, performance engineering, and cybersecurity. Its engineering teams collaborate on complex technical programs in a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and professional development.

What will you do

The Test Expert is a hands-on technical specialist responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and maintaining automated tests across the Tricentis Quality Engineering platform, including Tosca, qTest, NeoLoad, LiveCompare, and Elastic Execution Grid (EEG), and integrating those capabilities directly into DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines supporting mission-critical DCSA application development and pilots. This role is exclusively Tricentis-focused; knowledge of other DevSecOps tools is helpful for integration, but delivery outcomes rely on Tricentis end-to-end.

Embedded with developers, schedulers, and DevSecOps engineers, the Test Expert ensures automated testing is tightly integrated early in the lifecycle (“shift left”), with audit-ready traceability and release gate coverage.

The Test Expert works under the direction of the Senior Test Lead and is embedded with developers, schedulers, and DevSecOps engineers to ensure automated testing is tightly integrated early in the development lifecycle (“shift left”).

The position may be performed remotely, with periodic on-site participation in meetings in Quantico, VA or Annapolis, MD as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Tricentis Tosca Automation

  • Build modular, reusable, scalable tests in Tosca across UI, API, Mobile (Mobile Engine 3.0), Vision AI, and packaged apps (e.g., SAP).
  • Apply Model Based Test Automation, Test Case Design, and Test Data Management (TDM) to minimize maintenance and maximize stability.
  • Design end to end business process flows and risk-based suites aligned to pilot workflows.

CI/CD Orchestration & Elastic Execution

  • Configure and operate Elastic Execution Grid (EEG) for parallel, scalable execution (use DEX where legacy constraints are required).
  • Embed test triggers in Jenkins or Azure DevOps and orchestrate with qTest Launch for consistent scheduling and consolidated results.
  • Troubleshoot environment, pipeline, and artifact issues to keep the grid healthy and predictable.
  • Run automated test suites regularly, analyze results, and perform hands-on debugging of failures.
  • Identify root causes across data, environment, configuration, or application defects.
  • Log defects in qTest or JIRA and maintain full traceability between requirements, test assets, and execution results.

Performance, Quality Management, Traceability & Defects

  • Maintain end-to-end traceability in qTest Manager/Insights from requirements through execution and defects; publish audit-ready reports and dashboards.
  • Log defects (e.g., in qTest or Jira) with actionable analysis and root-cause insights.
  • Design and execute NeoLoad tests for APIs, microservices, and user journeys; integrate performance checks into CI/CD release gates.
  • Use LiveCompare (for SAP/ERP or similar) to focus testing on change-impacted, high-risk areas.

Collaboration With Technical Teams

  • Convert user stories into executable Tricentis scenarios; partner with developers to make features automation-ready in Tosca and wired to qTest/EEG early in sprints.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and pipeline readiness activities to stabilize pilot delivery.

Continuous Improvement

  • Continuously improve Tosca architecture, TDM strategies, and EEG utilization; adopt Vision AI and risk-based optimization where appropriate.
  • Recommend coverage, stability, and execution-efficiency improvements, and support regression readiness assessments.
  • Improve automation architectures, reusable components, naming standards, and maintainability practices.
  • Adopt emerging Tricentis capabilities (API testing, Vision AI, risk-based optimization) when mission-appropriate.
  • Recommend improvements to pilot test coverage, stability, and execution efficiency.
  • Support regression readiness assessments with hands-on validation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in computer science, IT, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3–8+ years in software testing and test automation.
  • Practical familiarity with qTest Manager/Insights and NeoLoad; experience integrating Tricentis into CI/CD/DevSecOps environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Tricentis Tosca (AS1/AS2, AE1/AE2, or equivalent).
  • Experience with UI, API, and data validation; strong collaboration across developers, testers, schedulers, and DevSecOps engineers.
  • Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Breadth across Tricentis modules: Elastic Execution Grid (or DEX), qTest Launch, NeoLoad, LiveCompare, Vision AI, Mobile Engine 3.0.
  • Tricentis Tosca certifications (AS1/AS2 or higher).
  • Experience with Tosca DEX, TestCase Design, Test Data Management, Test Events.
  • Experience testing federal or DoD applications, preferably with DCSA programs.
  • Experience working with Jira, GitLab, GitHub, ServiceNow, SonarQube, or WalkMe.
  • Experience implementing automation in cloud environments.
